  • pretty rad, bro

  • Well thats typical russian mentallity. Dont care about fixing and taking care of anything. Ive seen it in so many places since my wife is russian.

  • and do you have internet? :/

  • looks like the stone age until you get to the apartment

  • yaroslav its in poland

  • @arik794 um no its not, if it was in Poland than why he says hi in Russian?

  • @LexieDeaves ohhh ... im jew from israel and my family is from berdichav in ukraine....

  • @arik794 so you and your family come from different countries? well thats odd but I am not sure what it has to do with my question!

  • @LexieDeaves its okay . in ussr ukraine was part of soviet russia

  • @arik794 whats ok? what r u talking about? I was born in Belarus, don't you think I would know what was part of USSR ...and again what does it have to do with my question?

  • The outside and entrance and hallways of that apartment look horrible, but the inside of your apartment room looks nice and very livable.

Russian apartments have a very different layout than American ones though.

  • Sure, as I see you're one of them..)))

  • What did you want to demonstrate by this poor video I wonder? Why didn't you show other houses and appartments in the same district with all modern convenience and without any need of repair? Did you want to demonstrate how badly you were met and served in Yaroslavl? Why didn't you ask for a better appartment? Probably you deserved the one you got, eh?

  • @MsAndante hahahahaha, that's hilarious comment.. it's really wrote off.. Lol, mind you it does look a good place for meeting some right nutters..

  • Is this the kind of apartment that the soviet government gave to the people? for what kind of family?

  • Doesn't seem like too bad of a place, once you get inside the door :-) But there's no way in hell you'd get me on that elevator. No siree.... That thing would get stuck between floors, and they'd find me in 2042.

  • @mattnik oh no when the elevator gets stuck, you have to bang on the door and scream loud and if someone hears you than you are lucky. Just no jumping cause it might actually fall :)

  • Zdra(v)stvuite is more like "Hello" and Privet is more like "hi". Anyway, even for three weeks, calling a plumber to fix my toilet in Saint Petersburg cost maybe 500 rubles ($18); and he came, did the work, and included parts, and the electrician who fixed my light cost 350 rubles for the work plus parts. In Yaroslavl it could be done cheaper, then you get to flush. How much did that place cost? I am willing to bet you didn't exactly splurge.

  • Spasibo!

  • The "reality" is not always about depressing things. This apartment is obviously bad, most Russians live in relatively good conditions. But if you enjoy showing us as permanently drunk and depressing (in a bad light), it's your business.

  • Я люблю Россию, и я хочу переехать туда, хотя я американская.

  • I respect that you show the house of the Russian reality, that you were false (a lie) but know that not only there but throughout the world is so ... shame that unite luxury and looks back at the house is a disaster.

  • lol Looks like the hood in the USA......You should look up the dying city Cleveland in the US is far worse

  • what did u say to the women that lives in the stairwell?

  • @whooperpooper86

I said, "strasvitye" which is hello in Russian.

  • @GrizzlyUM02 i thought it was privet. but your the russian. anyways, is she like a drug addict living there?

  • @whooperpooper86 I am not Russian. Privet and strasvitye both mean hello but privet is informal and used with friends while strasvitye is more formal and polite. An older woman who is homeless in Russia is not usually a drug addict but being alcoholic would not be uncommon. She also could have been mentally ill or simply just poor. She never caused any problems though when I was there.

  • should i go to russia or ukraine

  • @sportsfreak730

    Definately Russia! ;)

Ukraine is even more worse than russia.

  • When I used to live in Russia(I Used to live in Balakovo) the entrance to my apartment always, ALWAYS smelled like a mix of strong cologne and cigarettes... the smell of "Russian". hahaha!

  • THE thing that bothers me about this establishment is how they neglect simple things, soooo do they maintain the lift? the lift must be serviced all the time to insure safe operation!!!!

  • How much did it cost for the 3 weeks you were there?

  • i live in san diego, california ive been looking through youtube looking at apartments from people who live in europe asia south america its just amazing and really interesting to me.

  • is a veri nice house. mine is not a joke.

  • This needs a very expensive high quality oil base enamel to repaint the halls, a concrete patch, resurface for the floors. It could be done and some apartments should be joined to make a larger unit. As for messy, my house is messy and then I clean it and then it's not messy anymore :)

  • Open door . Close door . Jump out window .

  • I lived in Yaroslavl for some time. Nice city and great apartments. But the buildings in this district are awful your right, many drug users live there.

The building is dirty, but again, it depends on the apartment's owner to keep it clean and sweet. Your toilet does not work, there is no light in the bathroom. You could fix it , could not you? It looks like you don't care. You don't have to have a lot of money to keep it clean

  • @sartyhotone Yaroslavl is a nice city but it is not a city of great apartments by any standard. I have lived in better apartments than this there but apartments are mostly small, poorly built and run down. I didn't fix it because I was only there for about 3 weeks. The main problem is not the apartment but the common areas like the entrance and stairs which don't belong to anyone so noone does anything to maintain or clean them.

  • Capitalism definately does not work for Russia. You would not see this in former USSR.

  • @sartyhotone Capitalism's "id" is fear and greed. Without the rules of civilization to compel it to serve the body-politic, financial capital is more destructive than a wildfire. Fire and money have to be contained and directed to do useful work. The USSR was fascist. It was never socialist. The U.S. came closer to classic socialism than the USSR ever did.

When the banks were held to the gold standard, the Glass-Steagall Act, and forced to be responsible by the New Deal, America prospered.

  • @sartyhotone Russia had 70 years of communism and 19 of capitalism. I think it is pretty obvious which system bears the majority of blame for the current state of Russia.

  • @GrizzlyUM02 , It is not a secret that destoying something takes much much less time and effort that building or creating something. Capitalism destoyed everything in a few years (not 19 years) . What you see on the video is the result of the wild Capitalism marching over Russia.

  • amaricans are talking about ghetto.

    they should see this. :)

  • what a fuckin disgusting hellhole!

  • Fascinating Grizz.
