I would just like to say a word of gratitude to rare.
I've had the original for almost 11 years, and counting. I spent almost every single day of my childhood playing it with my friend... in fact our friendship was almost completely based on it. With excitement, we both met up again today and downloaded this.
All game makers care about is making money back then they cared about the player and the game. Today games look good but they can`t beat the true games of yesterday.

the cheats on this game suck. i was hoping for invisibility and slow-mo enemies. huge disappointment. well...i guess it was worth $10. they need to remake goldeneye for xbla. i played n64 a while ago and realized how shitty it was...
@Shadowz41 why you gotta be a smart guy? the cloak isn't true invisibility for multiple reasons. i said slow mo enemies not everything slow mo. combat boosts are limited.
Not being a smart guy, just giving the facts. Also use unlimited ammo cheat for infinite cloaking/combat boosts. I have played Goldeneye and I don't think it's game-breaking that a few cheats don't exactly cater to you.
Man I saw the reviews on the remake of this game it only got a few nice ones the rest were just obvious ratings of remakes(via giving it a 7 or 8.9 or a 9 ish) I mean look what happened when Conker's Bad Fur Day was remade for the Xbox 1 it got an 8.7 from the most of the reviews because it has already been reviewed already on the N64. Most reviewer will say: "oh we already saw this back in the old days now most kids are into multi-player so we will give it an 8 or 7." -_-
Question for anyone who sees this. Has anyone been having the game freeze when trying to go in to the soundtrack options in the multiplayer? If so did you get it fixed and how?
@mrroboto5785 Laugh out loud, I figured out what was wrong. You can't use the songs until you've played through them on the mission. My question is why does it have to fucking FREEZE and make you think something is wrong? Why can't it just tell you that they are not available yet?

It wasn't that is was made during the same era, both games were made by Rare. Perfect Dark runs on an upgraded version of the Goldeneye engine, and they put many things from Goldeneye in the game, including several remakes of multiplayer stages. You can also unlock Bond-like multiplayer characters, and there are several weapons from Goldeneye which can be unlocked in single player.
How is it that i just now find out that the best game EVER came out on xbla almost a year ago? I'm so gonna go get it this instant. I've spent many a year enjoying this game alone and with my friends. I miss split screen multiplayer so much. Why did my mom have to give away my n64? WHY!?

perfect dark was supposed to be the goldeneye 007 sequel but because they dint have the licence they do that insetead, they should put back goldeneye 007 on the xbox live arcade
@Jimimar360 the only people who would argue with you are all the 10 yr olds who play call of duty. don't get me wrong i like call of duty but perfect dark for the n64 is way fucking better. best storyline if you had the expansion pack, best background music, great maps, and best futuristic weapons. i mean damn if you had a farsight then you were unstoppable. halo 3 takes place 500 yrs in the future and they don't have weapons like that. i played the game when i was 6 and i'd still play it today.
Anyone have trouble playing some of the training modes? I can't play any of them. It says to stand in front of the computer or terminal and hit "x". Nothing happened! I tried all the buttons too!
@zardcat1111 I remember occasionally in the original you had to look slightly down at the terminal, not sure if its any different in this version though.

I mean think about it, with games like Call of Duty and halo, those control schemes work much better than the old 64. Or perhaps it's not the a real HD experience we, if not most of us were hoping for. Like i wanted it to use the full capacity of the xbox software, and with the control scheme of current fps. This is EXACTLY what we want them to do for Goldeneye.... No remake, no retelling, rehashing and fucking up the original, just polish it up and re-release the exact game, just like this one. I downloaded this for Xbox and its awesome.
@Jizzle76 The new Goldeneye is actually very good and its own game to its credit. In saying that, I'd like it if Nintendo, Microsoft anf the several other companies involved could come to an agreement on the original. It'd be a shame if a classic game got lost in a legal quibble forever.

@frankytap Completely worth it. I was a HUGE fan of the original. Still have it. I've played both of them the last couple of days side by side and aside from the different controller, the feel of both games is identical... the xbarcade version just looks much much better, sounds much better and is infinitely smoother. I doubt I'll ever play the N64 cartridge of this again to be totally honest.
they need to re-do goldeneye the exact same way now. Reach is gathering dust!

I would only for the acheivements. Perfect Dark for me is only for the N64. Like putting arms on the Venus de Milo, or watching Casablanca in color. It's just not RIGHT.
@SawdustProductions I didn't know Perfect Dark, but I used to love Rare from Banjo-Kazooie days and the price wasn't much (800 MPS), so I bought this game only for the achievements when it was released... believe me, I don't sorry to have done that.

There is a Slo-Mo mode for single player or you can just toggle it in multiplayer to get your fix, or spam Combat Boosts.

@MrZomgkitteh try re downloading it? Also, the area of the world you live in will affect what games you can play and not play, and what content you can download and use and not use. But if you can download it then there is no reason you shouldn't be able to play it. If it did not work in your region then it wouldn't have let you downloaded. @ncf209rulz doesnt have a story mode?? dude that was the single player mode....btw i cant see any big diference, for me it is not a remake, a remake would have made it look awesome...the original game for the N64 was really awesome, i spent a lot of hours unlocking everything on the game and having fun with friends cuz multiplayer was just amazingly fun to play. Anyone remember the pieces of cheese that can be found in the original? just wonderfull......

@frankytap Completely worth it. I was a HUGE fan of the original. Still have it. I've played both of them the last couple of days side by side and aside from the different controller, the feel of both games is identical... the xbarcade version just looks much much better, sounds much better and is infinitely smoother. I doubt I'll ever play the N64 cartridge of this again to be totally honest.
they need to re-do goldeneye the exact same way now. Reach is gathering dust!

I would only for the acheivements. Perfect Dark for me is only for the N64. Like putting arms on the Venus de Milo, or watching Casablanca in color. It's just not RIGHT.

@SawdustProductions I didn't know Perfect Dark, but I used to love Rare from Banjo-Kazooie days and the price wasn't much (800 MPS), so I bought this game only for the achievements when it was released... believe me, I don't sorry to have done that.
