See sharks swimming between people all the time 99.9% of the time the swimmers never know there around . I enjoy fishing for sharks in destin and Pensacola . Wish you could shark fish off destin pier but they don't allow it . But they cant stop us from fishing for them from the beach . Just stay out of the water early morning and dusk ,dark and dont wear shinny jewelry and stay out of bait fish and you wont have to worry about them . plus there a better chance

A 15 year old girl lost her life to a bull shark just east of that area 2 summers before this was filmed. They're nothing to play around with. An 8 footer can do plenty enough damage to end your life. If I remember correctly, the one that bit that poor girl was 6-8 feet long.

I was at the Islander in June and from our balcolny we saw a shark swim right underneath a couple floating on their rafts. Scared the shit out of me!!

Yes, in the summer they are always ridiculously crowded. I have been going there my whole life (I'm 32) and it has changed a lot. I don't go there nearly as often because of the crowding.

yeah i surf a lot there. i hate the dumb tourist that ask wheres a good place to eat, and you have to say everywhere. but then there are the super cool ones that are totally rad, like i was so fucking thirsty so i asked a tourist and they gave free water! So yeah i hate the dumb ones and love the cool kick ass ones. and all the cool ones are fun to talk to and have fun and party under the sun. but yeah it like a hate/love scenario lol.

yeah it was, I went on a boat tour last time I was there and they showed us where they filmed some of the "Amity" scenes.

It was actually Jaws 2 that was filmed in Destin.....the original Jaws was shot in New England where it is set.

i remember that! that day the one girl got killed from Lousiana, god me and my mom didnt know about it. And so we go to that beach that day, swimming out pretty deep, and people are just staring at us from the shore. we had no idea what was going on. But my grandma worked in Destin where it happend and called to tell us cuz she knew we were going to the beach that day.
