God said "lets us make man in our image". Notice, its "US" and not "ME". Us implies two. That means God is two parts: Female AND Male.

Take that info, apply it to Adam and Eve. God created man in their image, female and male. From there, he created Eve from Adam's side, split Man into Male and Female.
