This is one of the best games I have ever played. Just watching it right now, after over a decade of not playing it, It still brought tears to my eyes. Such a great game.

not very many games now a days tell a story quite like Lunar and Lunar 2 do. I remember these games took me DAYS to beat.. I think lunar 2 took me nearly a week and a half, maybe two but that's cause I took my time and leveled hehe.. but the stories are just... incredible.
I had to search this cutscene, i beat the game years ago when i was so much younger, and never seen the ending he'd approach luna, cutscene starts(insert disc 2) game freezes, never seen this ending, drove me insane for years.. then i forgot it.
I didn't even have the sound plugged into my ears and my eyes still got wet. I remember the 1st time I played this game, after I got the U.S. edition for the PSX. 1 of my favorite games! Too remedy some of the events, I got Bromides!! I'll stop there. ;3
@whoo689 Lunar 2 actually takes place 1000 years after the events in Lunar 1, Alex and the rest are sadly long since gone... but the new characters are Lucia, a girl from the Blue Star (the beautiful moon showcased in the first Lunar) and Hiro, a human adventurer from Lunar (also known as the Silver Star)
I loved playing this game as a kid. Makes me wish I'd never gotten rid of my older game consoles. I'd love to have this one, Earthbound and Legend of Dragoon again!
in all my years this is the only game to ever make me get teary, to call it cliche is right and wrong. the good story makes up for that, this is a game that rewards the gamers faith. but now all we have are games that feel empty, what happened to the good days?
God, this ending reminds me of Dragon Quest IV. Why can't their be more games where a tragic character comes back to life? But no, they just stay dead. T_T It also reminds me of Oh my Goddess, and even Chobits. Such a sweet ending. :) I love all 4 of them and I'm a guy, because it takes true love to feel that way about things, even if it's not supposed to be like that...
It's just like homosexuals. That kind of coupling might not be meant to be, but that love can be real. :)

This is the most cheesiest ending I've ever seen LOL! I remember when I was young I thought it was G-A-Y. I was like WTF. I mean it's ok that you guys like it but honestly, I hated it. The whole save the world get the girl idea been billions of time and most people still love it. I know why would I be here to see this vid if I hate it so much. I know people might not agree but this game is what I say "Save The World Get The Girl" (can be the same with girls saving the world too and they get their guy). So to me the story sucks. If you want a game that breaks a lot of Cliche's, you could try Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria, or Tales of the Abyss. As for me, you're entitled to your opinion, but this game was my very first RPGs and while I realize it has it's short comings, I still love the game for what it's worth. This game was pure magic to me and it's the only game that I accept the girl to be rescued.

Purpose is a given when it comes to a plot. Thats just how it is. If you're saying its cliche then you are correct, however that in no way takes away from the story as there is so much besides how you understand the main characters motivation.

I wish RPGS these days had Anime Cutscenes instead of just having 3d ones... I think the only one that did this recently was Ar Tonelico, I think... I haven't played it in a while, did it have anime cutscenes? Seriously, I actually prefer the anime over some fancy graphics.
This was the first videogame ending ever to make me shed a tear, I was only 11 years old back then and now 14 years later it's still very touching, man this right here is the reason RPG's are the only type of game worth playing, this Series should be brought back to PS3 as a new collectors edition

When I first played this game when it came I I instantly fell in love... I never did beat the last boss because my second disk was destroyed by a cat of mine... But this is the closure I needed from one of the best games I ever played, with one of the greatest stories I've ever used my time for.

Also this isnt really the ending you still have to go to Jessica's town and talk to Dyne. This is just after you finally defeat Galeon and have to make Luna remember who you are.
No he isnt dead. dyne was that one wierd guy who they met in the woods but he was called someone else until the end after this you go to Jessicas hometown you go to him and he will tell you that he was actually Dyne.
Ah yeah i remember but Laike turned out to be Dyne the whole time at the end. Then you go off with Luna to Alex's hometown to get the real ending. I only saved at Jessica's town before the real ending only to watch the storyline cut scenes from that one mirror device lol.
I WANT to knoe about this Story, My cuzzin play this game, all i knoe that Luna is goddess, but she was reborn. Thats all i know. I'd wished i knoe more about the story.
Its a good game. Bascially Luna is Althena and she was reborn into Luna then Dragonmaster Dyne brought her to the family of the hero Alex and they lived together but Alex always wanted to be Dragonmaster so you play through the game and he becomes one and facing Galeon. Then in Eternal Blue you find out that Alex and Luna got married and Luna gave up everything to be with him and thats why she isnt in that game but Nall is he is 1000 years older in Eternal Blue. Both good games.
Really beautifull i remember having this game years ago and even the graphics wasn't the best graphics ever it was a very good game with a engaging and great history. And BTW beautifull ending :)i loved it
how is it that a Japanese rpg like lunar for PS1 has voiceovers, yet most rpgs up until ps2had ZERO???? Is it that hard? come on! Just think how much better ff7-9 would've been if they had voiceovers for the characters rather than just text.
At least they kept away from the original RPG tradition of making the main character a mute =) like in chrono trigger I feel like those guys are talking to lassie telling him what to do, guess since you need to have a certain amount of skill to play an RPG the Big corps guys never exploit this gender in america as they do in Japan, they just overflow us with cheap no brainer games like Mario X sport or war games were you just need to shoot like crazy, RPG fans always get screwed

I remember i was shed tons of tears when i thought Alex and Luna is dead.
My heart just fell apart.....
But when Alex and Luna appeared, i jump and scream!!!
Then i wiped my tears and laugh with Alex and everyone....
Seriously, one of the happiest moment of my life. I'll never forget it forever.

Like many fans of the game I often wondered if a Lunar anime will be made anytime in the future.
Many RPG's have already made the transition into animation but sadly most of them aren't as good or faithful to the game.
I'm all for a Lunar anime. Just as long as they don't butcher it up.

I wish RPGS these days had Anime Cutscenes instead of just having 3d ones... I think the only one that did this recently was Ar Tonelico, I think... I haven't played it in a while, did it have anime cutscenes? Seriously, I actually prefer the anime over some fancy graphics.

To think that they were able to have voices and amazing cut-scene graphics at the time of its release, now that i look back, is truly remarkable.
Hands down, this is one of the greatest games ever.

This was the first videogame ending ever to make me shed a tear, I was only 11 years old back then and now 14 years later it's still very touching, man this right here is the reason RPG's are the only type of game worth playing, this Series should be brought back to PS3 as a new collectors edition

When I first played this game when it came I I instantly fell in love... I never did beat the last boss because my second disk was destroyed by a cat of mine... But this is the closure I needed from one of the best games I ever played, with one of the greatest stories I've ever used my time for.

Also this isnt really the ending you still have to go to Jessica's town and talk to Dyne. This is just after you finally defeat Galeon and have to make Luna remember who you are.

No he isnt dead. dyne was that one wierd guy who they met in the woods but he was called someone else until the end after this you go to Jessicas hometown you go to him and he will tell you that he was actually Dyne.

Ah yeah i remember but Laike turned out to be Dyne the whole time at the end. Then you go off with Luna to Alex's hometown to get the real ending. I only saved at Jessica's town before the real ending only to watch the storyline cut scenes from that one mirror device lol.

Its a good game. Bascially Luna is Althena and she was reborn into Luna then Dragonmaster Dyne brought her to the family of the hero Alex and they lived together but Alex always wanted to be Dragonmaster so you play through the game and he becomes one and facing Galeon. Then in Eternal Blue you find out that Alex and Luna got married and Luna gave up everything to be with him and thats why she isnt in that game but Nall is he is 1000 years older in Eternal Blue. Both good games.

Really beautifull i remember having this game years ago and even the graphics wasn't the best graphics ever it was a very good game with a engaging and great history. And BTW beautifull ending :)i loved it

I remember getting this game from someone who thought it was "childish." This was THE best game with one of the BEST storylines ever!
For those who haven't played Lunar Eternal Blue go buy a copy. I promise the money is worth it and you will love it!

how is it that a Japanese rpg like lunar for PS1 has voiceovers, yet most rpgs up until ps2had ZERO???? Is it that hard? come on! Just think how much better ff7-9 would've been if they had voiceovers for the characters rather than just text.

At least they kept away from the original RPG tradition of making the main character a mute =) like in chrono trigger I feel like those guys are talking to lassie telling him what to do, guess since you need to have a certain amount of skill to play an RPG the Big corps guys never exploit this gender in america as they do in Japan, they just overflow us with cheap no brainer games like Mario X sport or war games were you just need to shoot like crazy, RPG fans always get screwed
