Just when all hope is lost, Deadpool bursts in, guns blazing and wounds Lars, freeing Goblin.

Lars arrives at Stan’s Place just as Goblin finishes explaining himself and strangles him. With many of the heroes missing, they stand no chance against Lars.

In Luthor’s hideout, the heroes that left sneak into Iron Man’s holding cell and release him, Luthor too focused on Lars’ situation to notice. Luthor was prepared however and the heroes are captured.

Meanwhile, Deadpool is nearing Stan’s Place armed to the teeth, as per Rorschach’s orders. Lars goes to Goblin’s specified location and finds the backpack that Lance’s head was in. He opens it to find several proximity pumpkin bombs that explode and damage Lars, to the observing Luthor’s fury. He orders Lars to teleport back to Stan’s Place and find out where Lance’s head really is.

After being tortured by Lars, he tells Luthor that Lance’s head is just outside the bar. Lars teleports to the location, dropping Goblin. Some of the heroes are enraged that Goblin would let Luthor claim Lance’s head, but with Lars gone and Luthor’s attention elsewhere, he is free to begin to explain the situation, including that he had hidden Lance’s head somewhere else. Superman and the other heavy hitters can’t stay to listen because they have to rescue Iron Man.

Meanwhile, at Stan’s Place, the heroes are horrified by the sight of Iron Man being tortured by Luthor. Powerless to help him because of Lars’ presence at the bar, the heroes almost lose hope. Right at the last minute, Goblin bursts into Stan’s Place to the shock and disbelief of the heroes, Lars and Luthor, who sees all from his hideout. Lars grabs Goblin, with Luthor demanding to know where Lance’s head is.

Deadpool and Goblin arrive in the present, with the customary flash of light. They discuss their options in completing their objective of saving the world, but end up bickering, as is usual in the Randomverse. They end up parting ways with Deadpool seeking Rorschach (for some unknown reason, but because of Rorschach and Deadpool 2, it’s canon. Possibly because of their “friendship”) and Goblin heading towards Stan’s Place to warn the heroes with Lance’s head in hand.

And thus ends the exciting legacy that once was Zero Hour.

It's gone.

He's not making another one.

It's been a year now.
