To all the comments thinking Akainu will be killled by Luffy you're wrong.

Luffy would never kill a person. Instead his philosophy rather than killing is to defeat someone and make them see their own dreams being crushed in front of them and make them realize their sense of justice is wrong, just as bad as death.

Don't get me wrong, Luffy will defeat Akainu eventually and we will see that it will be a satisfying outcome to everybody. But Akainu will not die, instead have his justice crushed.

Akainu is currently one of the main major villains in the One Piece story so far. He murdered ace, completely anhilated the population of Ohara, gave Luffy his scar and is currently fleet admiral of the marines. So it would be a great choice for Luffy not to fight him? I don't get what you're saying... o_O

Blackbeard is also another main major villains since he pretty much started the war and is one of the current Yonkou.

@almghool if youve read the manga or at least watched this scene...youd understand that Haki can counteract Logia type abilities making the enemy vulnerable to attacks during contact, this depends on the haki users will, and Akainu's sense of Justice is so strong that he is willing to eliminate even his comrades to achieve it, although Ace also had haki the lava already burnt his internal organs, even regeneration was impossible and was too late, although he was fire logia, Akainu was lava.

I liked how he was in shock when Ace died. Not that Ace's death wasn't sad or anything, it was but Luffy looking like that and being in shock was pretty realistic but not seen too much in the anime I watch when people die. They usually get mad and start crying or just start crying and acting as if the person can still get up if they call their name and move them. I've probably seen the latter the most. Shows how realistically painful this was for Luffy.

How can you say One piece is trash? It potrays the various aspects of life perfectly. Even though luffy's strong, he didn't have enough strength to save ace. Ace died right before his eyes and he was unable to do anything. Luffy suffered so much, but even then he found the will power to move on. No other anime/manga has ever made something so realistic. I can't blame you though. Everyone has different tastes in anime.

@rezarahardian well,if you remember chain of events, before ace died they never showed his hotheaded side, those were seen in flashback after the fact. all shown was him being kind considerate brother, even his fight with blackbeard didn't show him loosing his cool. all we know was that he's strong, shows more respect than luffy and loyal to whitebeard. so when he died for disobeying orders it was a little iritating even if it s the reason for the 2 year long training which advanced the story
