Ok, right now it is a good deal to get the Arcade than the pro. Here is why. The arcade is 100 dollars cheaper than the pro but it does not have the hard drive, the headset and the ethernet cable. Microsoft just rolled out with a Xbox Live pack which includes a 60 GB hard drive, 3 months of live, an ethernet cable, and a headset for 100 bucks. If you combine that with the Arcade, the Arcade becomes a better deal than the pro.

The 199 is only the console, memory card, av cables, wireless controller and 5 arcade games. The 299 one is the console, 60 GB hard drive, AV/HD cables, wireless controller, Headset, and an Ethernet cable.

Pretty much, the only reason I did not get a PS3 was because of price also I hated the fact that Sony removed so many good features such as memory card slots and PS2 backward compatibility. They took those out just to cut costs. I'm planning to get a used 60 GB model which has everything.

The only reason i got a PS3 was because i wanted to get MGS4 FF 13 and Tekken 6 but now that FF 13 is on 360 in North America and Europe the only thing that can keep me from selling it now that i have MGS4 is Tekken 6 and that aint sayin much

Pretty much, Sony is losing a lot of games to the 360. Developers are enticed to put aside their exclusive ties with Sony due to better software sales with the 360, it also costs developers less to produce a game for the 360 than for the PS3.

Yea Sony made a bad move by taking out Emotion Engine and replacing it with the Cell BroadBand Engine. Even Naughty Dog said that developing Drakes Fortune was difficult but then again Tomonobu Itagaki (Guy that made Dead or Alive) said it is much easier to make a game for PS3 than Famicom/NES. So since they made a big jump to improve graphics it costed more (800$) so they had no choice but to make it cost more so it didnt sell well and that costed it exclusives

Definitely, the thing is that whenever Sony comes out with a new system such as the PS2 and the PS3 they cram so many features into it which makes the system expensive. PS2 sold well because of the long list of 3rd party developers and its simple developers program. PS3 went a little bit overboard when it came to it's developers software which required a lot of time and money to invest into a decent game. Most PS3 games are just ports from developed 360 games due to the simplicity.

True True 360 is easier to develop for because it doesnt use such a huge CPU and the CPU is cheaper to develop so MS didnt have to release it at a high price while Sony on the otherhand made a big jump with CBB engine and Blu-Ray which costed more to develop which costed them sales and that costed them 3rd party exclusives
