In a way, the current introduction's use of the hosts and their names in the introduction is a modern take on the classic introduction with the host's name being used -- something that CBS did take off after 1989.

1976 I was a freshman in HS,and i loved watching The NFL Today, i couldn't wait for Sunday!

Regarding football today... i find better things to do on a Sunday afternoon now... oh, the good ole days of the 70's into the 80's....

I totally agree with you, 70's NFL football was the greatest era for football hands down! When football was truly great, no doubt about it.
