I remember playing this game back in the day - I loved it and while driving i would often deviate from the mission to explore the city until the timer ran out and the huge bomb went off. The game teased you with the idea that there was a city out there you could just drive around in and that left a huge impression on my mind. This is quite amazing when you think that the original GTA wasn't released until a year later, and then GTA3 (which resembles this game a lot) didn't appear for another 5.

How can a truck outrun a police van or just match up with it's speed? That oughta be impossible. That was one of the first thoughts i had when playing this level.

They're racing in a subway tunnel, so the terrain they're driving over must be quite rough. I'd think a dumptruck would be designed to handle rougher terrain better.

Being fast on pavement doesn't necessarily mean you're fast everywhere.

I loved this game so much, I used to play Die Hard with a Vengence so much that I knew every level off by heart, I played and finished it nearly everyday. I had it on the saturn and the PS1 and there were graphical differences. Explosions looked better on the PS1 and for memory I don't think the Saturn had blood on the windscreen when you hit people? Can anyone remember?

The cars do feel kind of floaty, but using the R2 and L2 buttons to make instant 90 degree turns like I do makes things much easier.

But I play driving games constantly and I can master most driving physics engines.

I know you can find the hot dog van in the first park level. The blue arrows on the compass point to other vehicles you can get into. If you drive towards one of them you'll find it.

Really? It only took me several minutes when I was playing for the first time, to work out what I was supposed to do. With the way the guy keeps going "turn left up here" or whatever, when the arrow is pointing to the left, you kinda get the idea that you're supposed to follow the red arrow.

Oh, don't you know? If you press the R2 or L2 button, you do an instant 90 degree turn. It's very handy for the grid-like city streets. Oh, and change view is the triangle button.

This is the PSX port. And yes....I think I did edit out the loading screens. Although, once you get past the initial load, the game has very quick loading times in any case.

You know, even to this day I am still amazed that this game wasnt banned or at least heavilly censored. Just for this part of the game alone, go into first person driving mode and watch what happens when you run down civilians! Grusome! And if any flames hit a civilian... it's like they've had a shower in petrol! And to top it off if you watch them they roll around on the floor!
