  • This song was sung to me when I was little by my mom.... It was also the first song she taught me how to play on the guitar and I have played it for 10 years now. All my friends love it and its always the first one they make me play cause of its originality. I have a condensed video on my youtube page but I like the version you used ALOT!!! What are the chords that you use in your arrangement if you dont mind me asking?

  • Hi .. nice rendition. can you let me know the chords and strum pattern.

    Thx

  • Hi Mark Although you can get away with C and G7 only, I put in a Dm7 before moving to G7. Hope this helps. Strumming is straight forward thumb alternate beat between 5th string and 6th string.

    Enjoy

  • Greetings Max I am surprised but gladly heartened by the information about Sweet Rosie O'Gradys often having this performed. Now I have an image of me on the stage and with my backing group the Dimples singing another chestnut Aitken Drum

  • Greetings

    David...

I had just gotten finished commenting on Raymond's post, indicating that the Irish tune he had posted was a regular one @ Sweet Rosie O' Grady's Pub and Grill (a very old watering hole located in The Big Apple.) You might find it a surprise to learn that this chestnut too,is regularly perfomed there as well.

You've done my heart a lot of good with your charming and light-hearted rendition of this beloved classic.

    Pax,

    Max
