I remembered I was with my friend

at her house and at night we both watched

the whole movie and near the ending of the movie I almost cried when I saw that doll showing her freaky scary looking face to the girl who tried to kill herself

O-o but the movie was pretty good xD

I thought a lot of the scares were all built the same. Strange sound, character slowly turns head and shows something in the background and turns around either screams or not there anymore. Other than the scares being typically the same i thought this was really good. Really original story and had no idea what was going to happen. And the doll is fucking creepy, i do get annoyed how many times they show it that it loses it's value. But near the end, fuck that was wierd

This is one of my favorites. Things like apartment 1303 and ju-on are just too scary for me (visualy) this was scary but it didn't have that many terrorfying visuals. This is good for someone that likes to watch scary movies but doesn't want to have too many nightmares.

I saw this after seeing this and a trailer for it on one of the other 8 horror films (Either Penny Dreadful or The Hamiltons...maybe both) So I finally watched it and the doll had to be one of the freakest props and visual effects sequences I've ever seen and the day after I watched it, I slept over at a friends house. She had a huge doll collection and I couldn't sleep a wink that night because of the doll. XD

Yeah this one was pretty decent. I saw it on ON DEMAND. Like you said a little slow in parts. But that is expected in a Japanese film. THeir pacing is different from Hollywood. I liked the surprise of who the ultimate killer was. Not telling so I dont spoil it. The eastern philosophy of reincarnation is used a lot. Western audiences may not be as familure with it. The original THE EYE movie centered around that theme.

I saw that one and it was bizarre and messed up to put it plainly. You have to be able to handle some strange themes to watch that one. Billy Drago was funny. He overacted a little.

I got to see the in theaters when it was showing with the other horrorfest movies. Me and my wife really liked the movie, but a majority of the 10 or 12 other people in the theater spent most of the time laughing and putting it down (barely anyone here in america can appreciate asian movies, go figure) though the doll scene was the only part in the movie that I didn't like and made me giggle as well, looked like they ran out of money for that scene or something.

Shimizu is my home-boy! So I was pre-disposed to liking this film before I even rented it.

It starts out really interestingly and cool, then kind of levels off near the middle, and ALMOST peters out into one of those 'What is reality?" type endings so common in J-horror that I puke when I think of them.

Overall though, I'd probably give it close to the same score. Good review!

I never understood the doll in the movie. Was it possessed by thye little girl, thats why it could talk or was it just werid that way? I've watched the movie 4 times and still don't understand. Could you explain XD

I watched this on SciFi the other night. It was good. I just had to read the subtitles LOL. I wish I could find a video of the part at the end when the doll walks towards her and says Together Forever

It occurred to me that this movie was about how they make them in Japan,showing the cruel&demanding treatment of the actors by the director.Eventually this leads to the story's conclusion as well,so this'd have to be a phen.movie.Yet it isn't due to overfabrication and lack of real insp.toward the end.Noises also too familiar

I have so many friends that totally dis J-horror, but everything you said pretty muched summed up the initial feel of the movie! It wasn't toally biased one way or the other.

By the way: That doll is so DEFINITLY creepier than Chucky.

Funny that I'm just watching this review, I only just watched the movie yesterday. I wasn't that pleased with it, the slow parts were just too slow, and I lost interest quickly. I left it in, let it play as background noise while I did other things...the ending was weird, guess I missed too much of the movie. The doll really was creepy though, and that actress was really good.

Looking forward to your thoughts on some of the other movies I told you about.
