  • 1:27 is that Dennis Weaver?

  • Mycket bra sångerska och en fin låt också.

  • i wonder if george himself ever actually checks this video out?

  • I played this song on 19/July/2011 @ 1706 hrs on Classic Country AM1060 - CKMX radio - Calgary, Alberta, Canada on the drive home show and the phone calls I got from playing just this song was amazing. Untill next time friends...keeper' country! rod embree

  • @rode8 I used to pick that station up occasionally in Everett Wa but not anymore. If I'd heard this on the radio I wouldn't have believed it because I bought this album in 1987, still have it and have never heard it on the radio.

  • @rrip1 Hey thx for the words! rod e.

  • @rode8 You're welcome, and thanks for playing Tammy and other real country music, wish I could still pick up the station.

  • Thanks for all the great music Tammy!

  • How this only got to no12 is beyond me, It's a hit in my opinion.

  • Thank you so muchAcer750 for putting this song up. I have not heard it before but again, it is fabulous and gives me goose bumps. She is so unique how can anyone not love Tammy ? THe true LAdy of Country music and I LOVE your SIGNIN' Tammy. Yes you are 0ne of a kind. THere'll never be another Tammy. Ritchie saw to that, may he rot in hell! Tammy was a true Lady in everyway. Her songs are profound and felt. Thanks you TAmmy for hours of pure enjoyment!

  • I remember first hearing this song. I called the radio station here in Charlotte and requested it every single day. The DJ got so used to me calling, she'd just say "Hi Roby...I'll play it again for you". One of the most beautiful I've ever heard.

  • Who actually cares about who was "Queen" of Country, or "King" or "princess" or "Duchess" Those are just stupid titles that actually mean nothing. What really matters is that this woman had an amazing voice and talent the like of which you don't see these days. Patsy Cline had an amazing voice too. Loretta Lynn, Kitty Wells, Dolly Parton etc. etc. They're all amazing and phenomenal singers.

  • There will never be another Lady like her!

  • They don't make em like Tammy anymore. "Yesyoumay" said she'd even put Tammy above pop singers like Reba and Dolly. What an insult to mentions those names in the same sentence with Tammy. Those 2 wouldn't be fit to carry the "Queen of countrys" hairspray. Tammy could bring a tear to a glass eye.....

  • I put her right up there with Patsy Cline and above any other female C & W singer, including Dolly, Reba, etc.

  • OMG I love the first lady of blonde hair!

  • What a looker! I'm in the middle of reading "Tammy Wynette - Tragic Country Queen" and loving it. She was so ladylike and classy.

  • Thanks flowerpot, love this track so much, Have a fantastic weekend there, hope the weathers not too bad there with you, Big Hugs Love Ann::)

  • Love, Love, Love, This Woman

  • What a fine lady, She came walking in through the crowd so confidently and of course smiling. The crowd opened up, let her through and as she passed everyone became very still. One lady quietly told her she was beautiful, she brushed off the comment and patted the lady's shoulder. Everyone was in awe of her.

    I love you still Tammy!!

  • The photos here are so very nice. She was the very best that ever was - in my humble opinion. She came from nowhere and rose to the top of her class.

Surely her talent was God given for explicit reasons and God took her home to sing for him. He created the best and took to her sing in his heavenly choir.

I so wish all could have met her as I did.

    I love you so Tammy!!!

  • acer, which chart are you goin' by. Accordin' to the Billboard country annual, Tammy peaked at #16 in Billboard, 2-27-88. God bless ya, my friend, for the post!

  • She is THE REAL DEAL...if you cant feel something listening to this, I dont know what the Hell to tell you. Ever since they put her in the ground, NO ONE has done it better, and NO ONE ever will again.

  • Oh, Tammy...the world isnt the same without you

  • I still love you Tammy!!!

  • She was every bit as beautiful as these photos depict. In person she was humble and so very nice. I have one album cover she autographed for me long ago.

Someday we'll meet again and I'll listen to her sing in God's heavenly choir.

I still love you so Tammy!!

  • I wish Tammy was still with us. I think about her everyday. I'm glad we still have her music and her memory.

  • This one is my favorite of Tammy tks for the post

  • GREAT!!

  • beautiful song!!!

  • tammy was and always will be the best ever

  • ive been looking 4 this song for years first heard her sing it on the dolly parton show

  • @zakandebbie Bet you prefered her singing it on the show to the studio recording. She was so great that night, I was only 7 years old and I remember it like it was yesterday

  • I have always loved this one!! she sure lived it, wrote it and play and sang it all,,she is indeed the queen, marvelous voice.

  • wow i never realized how smokin hot she was

  • This is such a lovely song. Very touching! I could listen to it over and over! I love the pics too very real! ;)

  • i dont know if its just me but i think d i v o r c e is more catchy song

  • @dudedude270 She left us with hundreds of amazing songs, I couldn't possibly pick out a favourite because I love most of them.

  • Love this song very much! Thanks for posting it! :)

  • This is not a song I'd heard before tuning into it here on YouTube. And I have most of them! Now, like so many of Tammy's songs, I find it going through my head. Long live her music. She was the ultimate country singer and still is. May her music and her selfless spirit live on and on and on.

  • Tammy is right up there with Kitty, Jean, and Loretta. Rose and Anita.

  • Great video, thanks for sharing it.

Well made, nice pictures, great song !

  • .•

    ♪♪ Great upload thanks!

    *•.¸¸♪♪¸¸.•*¨*•♪♪~ :-)) Angie

    Thank for this share Zhangerliang

  • That song pretty much describes me & my life. As for the simplistic video...I enjoyed it and think it is very nice.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • wow i just love the fiddle here.

  • every now & then, my grampa would put in a tape & tell me, this is real country music. i see what he meant now.

  • eternelle Tammy

  • I loved her so much....

  • tammy was the first country lady, here voice, here songs absolut great !

  • ...and Dolly's no Tammy! They are/were both great in their way.

  • agree. I actually really like this song.

  • I like her a lot! :))

    R.I.P. Tammy!

  • 1. She lived it

    2. She wrote it

    3. She played it

    4. She sang it

" The Queen Of Country Music "

  • @bil1228 she is and always be the best

  • @pnkpnther222 So very true.

You can tell just from the first word that she's on a different planet than any other female singer.

  • @bil1228 Nope, Patsy Cline, ALWAYS queen...but surely if she coulda, she woulda "princessed" Miss Tammy.

  • @MIORIGAMI THAt is debatable. Tammy's voice was that of real country , I love Patsy Cline with all my heart. But her style was totlly different than that of Tammy. I wpould have loed to see them in a duet. THe harmony woulda given us goose bumps I am certain. Patse, much like Tammy, was in a class of her own. It is a matter of taste and taste cannot be discussed or compared. Sure Patsy would have won awards I am certain of that

  • @Suzanne8642 Both great singers, by all means, my friend. :-) A duet would have been awesome for sure!

  • That last photo of her under the dryer with the guitar really said it all. Thanks, Acer.

  • Golly, what a great song - haunting and eerie, heartbreaking and beautiful. And Tammy just sings the fire out of it.

  • I am so thankful to you and to myself for continuing to watch this video. The photos of Tammy are spectacular.. especially where she is recording as a young woman, long flowing blond hair concentrating at the microphone. That made my day.. thank you. A nd if you have the ability to send me a copy, that would make my year.

We love you Tammy and we miss you.

  • When Tammy Wynette recorded Higher Ground she was already at the ancient age of 43 (gasp). Pop music radio is a medium directed at 12 year old girls or aging baby boomers who only want to hear Stair Way To Heaven over and over. Great music, directed toward real adults is out. Finding Higher Ground will take some doing but you will be richly rewarded with beautiful, traditional and deeply moving country music.

  • Well I don't know about y'll? But this is the BEST darn country music alive and what I would classify as country! I love it and wish more so-called country performers hand this kind of lyrics/tempo instead of "she thinks my tractor is sexy"......who gives a crap!LOL I listen to country music???? the I want country music! As George Jones calls them...."tear jerkers"...LOL I LOVE IT!

  • she reminds me of lorrie morgan, especially in earlier vid's, are they related, they sound a little alike too (when Tammy was younger)

  • they come from two diffrent worlds, Mac

  • They weren't related but there are definitely some similarities in them vocally and their hairstyles in the late 80s and 90s. They were very good friends though.

  • I was 5 or 6 when this came out and dont really remember. I just discovered it a few days ago. It's amazing, sad this type of music doesnt play on the radio anymore. To bad cause it s better than most of the crap out there... I miss you Tammy, RIP with the Angels

  • was she ever married to George?

  • Yes she was married to George Jones .

  • For some reason I remember this song being with a little bit quicker tempo. I haven't heard this in soooo long. I wish the classic radio stations would play these more often instead of the SAME oldies over and over.

  • Country radio has forgotten its foundation. I would like to hear the Legends daily on the radio.

  • right on, classic country is so hard to find!

  • i just come across this video, and yes i sure your right, it was recorded in a faster tempo. I think i remember this song being on the album with her standing next to a old woodie wagon, with her trade mark white hat, but like you , it's been soo long ago, im just not sure, Mac

  • You're right about the woody wagon, but she was sitting in the wagon without the hat. and this is the original tempo of the r song.

  • Tammy Wynette is the true Queen of country music! Great song by a great lady.

  • You r sooooooooooooo Correct!!!! 1000 %

  • Thanks Acer for posting, We can never get enough of " Tammy ".
