ive got a 125 gallon, was gunna do neon tetras blue german rams and discus, i know that water has to be soft and the ph has to be about 6.5-6.8 right? my waters naturally around 7.2, any tips for me?
as long as your ph is stable and steady, you do not need to copy the exact water conditions like wild discus. Some discus can thrive in hard water and slightly high PH. Unless, you want to breed them.. that might be different.
the tank is 45 gallons, and your absolutly right, its too small. im getting a bigger one (240L) in about 4 weeks.
The fish you see in there now has always lived in this tank since they were only 3 inches. In the past 4 months, two of them suddenly grew to 5-6 inches. So fear not, they are getting a new home soon, and they are in no way stressed by living this way.
Can the blue discus mate with the red discus??

@NorthwoodTimberwolve yes it will. breeders avoid this because it is harder to sell a crossbreed than a pure strain.

i personally would not worry too much about the ph level, as long as you keep the temperature in the upper 80s you should be fine
