  • Great job Phil. Quick question when switching over to the z31 transmission did you have do any modifications to the down pipe area of the exhaust? My down pipe is less than 1/4" of space from the tranny. Thx.

  • Hows the z31 tranny holding up? Im thinking of doing it soon. Austin is selling his again.

  • how much did u pay for the z31 turbo tranny ,ive been looking for one but i havent had any luck finding one...

  • $350 All Z in Ft. Worth Tx

  • Hahaha 'manly man' That's exactly how I feel after working on my car. You rule, dude.

  • I've done the Z trans no prob. The Z31/32 trans, however, definitely a manly man's tranny....lol I have one myself and I weighed it. 134lb without the flywheel, clutch, shifter, or fluids (Stock Z FS5W71 trans weighs 80lb btw)

  • True, I got a TT manifold but it allot of work I'm sticking with the single for now.

  • im trying to get a twin turbo on my 280zxt so if anyone could give me some tips or some help it would be greatly appreciated

  • I'm guessing you're talking about TT'ing the L28 engine, which will require a custom manifold, a bunch of fab work, and some ingenuity when it comes to fitting the whole thing around the steering column. What's wrong with a single turbo setup?

  • nothing its just my turbo is leaking since ive been pushing 20 lbs on a stock turbo so its now leaking oil badly so i was considering a twin turbo. ive already custom fight a 32 inch intercooler in the car with a 75mm throttle body just seeing if some 1 could make the manifold fit or custom make it

  • The possibilities are directly proportional to the depth of your pockets!

  • Also, look at turbo280z's other videos if you haven't already. There are a bunch of upgrade/bigger turbos you can fit to run higher pressures. There should be videos with both Holset and Garret turbos in his collection.

  • What kind of paint are you going for Phil? I've heard rumors you were considering duplicolor paintshop...

  • I'm thinking about the duplicolor paintshop hugger orange. But there is a auto body place 5 miles down the road that will do it for about $1700

  • Damn Phil, you had the EXACT idea down that I did, haha! I recently decided to go with a single stage polyurethane paint though, its more durable AND cheaper. Omaha Orange, though. Be careful if you go with the lacquer, from what I've heard the Texas sun will make quick work of it.

  • yo man keep doing the good work, cant wait to see what its like finished.

  • His car, like all Z's, is never finished. lol

  • boy you said right there!

  • ya the 30A is alot beefier than the 71C, you will like it. its real whiny too.

  • wow amazing. you should teach lessons or something to kids around so they learn how mmuch you know. iv tried to pull out a tranny it is hard

  • nice phil cant wait to see it running again good luck with the build
