Thank you for shining a light on some simple ways we can reshape our thinking about how to make positive changes, as individuals, as communities, and in the wider world. Yours is a voice of thoughtful reason and hope...and is very much appreciated.
Awesome message in this one kev. I couldn't agree with you more that peace must be found within ourselves before we can have realistic expectations of it occurring in the outside world. I've definitely projected my disharmony in the past through my activism so I'm delighted you made that point. I think it is a message that's actively buzzing actively through the mass consciousness. Keep doing what you do! - kevin
and it will all be a magical higher-dimensional procedure.. no fighting necessary... just thought. just the infinite power of love and the magnificence of light the weapons to utilize. to empower the whole through the empowering of self works miracles!! always in concordance with the principles of peace and service. i also think we should trust our president, cabinet, etc when the transition officially begins. to create more separation is to negate ourselves of our awesome potentiality, right?
6:10 >> government will indeed change very soon, and that will effectively open the way for the "new talent" like you for instance, to teach and lead at a wider scale.. it'll be a bit of a surgery on us and mother.. we're about to embark on a true sci-f- projection of our hearts, and the heart of mother gaia.. like steve bhaerman says on an interview on lilou mace tv.. we're going to have a miraculous intervention on ourselves. peace brotha kevin ____ gregg
I think love is indeed the most powerful force in the universe. I believe that we must make change personally and locally regardless of what the federal government does.
"peace start with the indivdual".., it is the most important mystical teaching. Yoga, ummm! that is the most deliciuos practice. It clears the debris from your energy, massage and heal your whole body, but most importantly your organs and align your being.. You are one amazing being my friend. Thank you!
my views on activism: lead by example and be happy. if you aren't a generally happy person, nobody will want to follow your lifestyle. Plus, "think globally, act locally" is one of my huge philosophies, it's totally true and it can work if everybody works at it in their own communities (like you said).
I agree with what you say. I like the quote at the end; "How we gonna win when we ain't right within".. Reminds me of "Physician, heal thyself'. And I totally agree with the concept that it is much better to be for something than against something. I met an American woman in England last year (during my crop circle trip) She was promoting regular community bonfires in the USA where people in the community can gather around the fires and chat and sing songs etc. An alternative to watching TV.
To pose a devil's advocate/ to address my a problem I have with the notion that creating new cultures in and of itself will be sufficient: As we have seen, the dominant culture is rather dominant :) in that it shows no signs of slowing, is taking over more and more parts of the planet/ more and more cultures, has several large armies and police forces to support it, etc.contd on next comment
@techjunkie92 So the danger i see in posing alternatives is that we will think we are creating a solution whilst really just perpetuating the status quo by isolating ourselves from mainstream culture... i know you are not suggesting moving to a commune in the wilderness without also working towards changing society, contd on next comment
@techjunkie92 but i just take issue with the notion of creating an alternative as sufficient in itself because the influence and power of the state is far greater than a few permaculture advocates planting some veggies. We dont have the mechanisms to propagate our alternative cultures, so there's no way it will reach a critical mass unless we work to resist THIS culture as well.
I appreciate the extensive feedback. And I have pondered this issue a lot and still do ponder it, especially after reading numerous Derrick Jensen books. BUT I have seen great examples of creative "resistance" which are really creation of alternative culture. If the alternative remains a very small minority, then I feel it will be futile, but I meet more and more people every day who are seeking and/or actively creating alternative culture. The SHIFT is about to hit the fan :)
@CosmicRevolutionKS I'm going to send you a message soon in response to your latest comment. Its much easier than discussing complex matters via the comments system. I say, im "one to talk" given that I've probably done less than you have in the way of either resisting or creating alternatives (and of course the two can be mutually-enforcing). Still, I figure i might as well give my perspective even if i am not really following it with action yet - but am initiating some plans to do so
know what ye mean tech. folks do need to see viable alternatives before they're gonna change their way of life, and i recon if we ourselves aren't trying to live differently people will just lable us fakers as an excuse to ignore us. but lots of people are living wild/indigenous and it hasn't stopped the destruction. we need both. to take on this culture, and seeding new ones.
Yea, I feel that we should do whatever we feel is right and team up with other people who agree. The key is to engage our personal gifts in whatever work we do :)
i agree people in civilization need to see how fragile it actually is. it's the illusion of permenance/indestructability that that gets shattered with every natural disaster but we can help to expose the vulnerability of it too - which might get people to consider living differently.

I love the idea of using creation rather than destruction. The anti-movement is ending.

Glad you enjoyed it, and woah, you've visited crop circles, how was it?
Bonfires are indeed wonderful and resonate deep within our beings as a community activity
