I'm just stoked Brandon/Incubus even did a cover of this song. Everyone has their own interpretation of how things are or should be...just like perceptions. I have nothing negative to say. I love Massive Attack & Incubus, & since I go to concerts generally 2 times a month, it's refreshing to hear bands I love covering songs of other bands I love. Coming from Incbubus, especially from Brandon's voice, this could of been a really, really amazing cover. But it wasn't. They needed to slow it down, let the Brandon do his thing. If that happened, and the sound quality wasn't so crappy, it would be so much better. But as of now, color me disappointed.

The reason its just a stright cover is just because its somthing they've randomly done once or twice at there live shows, probably on a whim with little to no practice, the covers by Elbow Faulkner and Gonzales' etc are so good because they've actually gone to a studio and sat down to record a version for retail, these guys are just rifing with a song they love.

If this was on a record, then it would be poor, but its just them having fun, so meh.

These are just my opinions, but I'm just trying to make the point that you can't say whether covers are or are not better. I will, however, side with you and say that Massive Attack's original is better than this, mainly because he is not a woman.
