@Sw0rdFishu Cropping/docking is not only for cosmetics. It is a great idea for a working Dobermann to be cropped/docked short in order to prevent injuries. The reason why Herr Dobermann decided to have the Dobermann's ears cropped like a Pit Bull Terrier was to prevent them from being used as handles by an attacker who may try stopping the Dobermann from doing its job of personal protection. Dobermanns do not need natural ears and tails. Being natural only increases the chances of being injured.

A responsible owner of a well trained, handled, cared for, socialized, and (sometimes) bred Dobermann shouldn’t be having any trouble. I have seen around 120 Dobie and have yet to see a well socialized Dobie show aggression towards me. I know and have heard of people who owned Dobies for their whole lives and haven’t been turned on.

Not one suffered from Ear mites; Internal Otitis,labyrinthitis, Infections - bacteria and yeast or the brutally painful tail breakage that Doberman and Boxer breeds are keen to suffer from. It's tantamount to the dogs tail exploding. NO loving and responsible owner would ever let their K9 companions ever go through something like that. My wife and I just lost are 3 1/2 year old Dobie to bone cancer last week,he was one of the best dogs I have ever had,loyal to the end.they are by far the best dogs in my eyes.Bandit did not have a mean bone in his body,but let a stranger or worker try to get between or near my wife and he would push his way in.and let them know who was boss.

I have 2 of them, beautiful, playful, wonderful, and ridiculously smart, now I may seem a bit over confident, after all they are my babies, but I can tell you without a doubt that all my other friends and family members who own dobies will tell you the exact same thing. They have such a bad rap, because they do look ferocious, but it all depends on how you raise your dogs.

@Theshofumiah1 just because it is a doberman doesnt mean its not going to be scared of any other dog.... it all has to do with the way you train them and the way they interacted with other dogs when they were a pup. My brother has a doberman that is scared of my grandmothers miniature chinese crested.

I have owned 2 Dobies. They are very good family pets. The kids friends can run in & out of the house, the dog loves them to tears. They are very smart too ( I believe in the top 10 in intellegence), so easy to train. The viscous tag is just not warranted.
Well, they are certainly more beautiful than rottweilers and pit bulls. However I don't want to get a dobermann since they are huge. I prefer small dogs, but not too small that I may accidentally step on one. I live in a condo.
I've had a dobermann and need to give him away to another family because I need to from my boss of my place I rented from.. And I had no money to rent another place and it was and still is the most worst thing I had to do in my life!!!! I miss my dobermann!!! Nobody can replace him!

I like all dogs i´ve always had german sheppards in my family and i like them a lot but now i also got a dobermann and i say to all i dont want anything else its my best friend and when im not with him it costs me a lot i don´t know how to descrive my love for my bran(my dobermann is called bran) and i just want to say that this video is very good because we should show to people that this is a noble and friendly animal not the bad dog that everyone says that it is...DOBERMANN FOR LIFE

My wife and I just lost are 3 1/2 year old Dobie to bone cancer last week,he was one of the best dogs I have ever had,loyal to the end.they are by far the best dogs in my eyes.Bandit did not have a mean bone in his body,but let a stranger or worker try to get between or near my wife and he would push his way in.and let them know who was boss.

people...if you are thinking about getting a dobie, DO!! I have 2 of them, beautiful, playful, wonderful, and ridiculously smart, now I may seem a bit over confident, after all they are my babies, but I can tell you without a doubt that all my other friends and family members who own dobies will tell you the exact same thing. They have such a bad rap, because they do look ferocious, but it all depends on how you raise your dogs.

@ANDERS0N1977 why is this ANDERSON saying in his info bit, that german shepard is extinct. my nieghbour has 2 german shepards, he told me its full breed. they look the same as on the net ones. misleading info. and by the way, i saw in a our local park, a doberman scared of the german shepard,

@Theshofumiah1 just because it is a doberman doesnt mean its not going to be scared of any other dog.... it all has to do with the way you train them and the way they interacted with other dogs when they were a pup. My brother has a doberman that is scared of my grandmothers miniature chinese crested.

Our Dobie is submissive to our Pomeranian. She's the alpha dog in the house. She bosses our Pittie and our Dobie around and no one ever believes us. :)

@SassyDobes, you're so right. Even after a year and a half and getting another GSD, I cry every time I think of my old girl. I am a grown up man and it is sometimes embarrassing to show up before someone with red eyes. They all can tell that I had been crying. The pain never really goes away.

I have owned 2 Dobies. They are very good family pets. The kids friends can run in & out of the house, the dog loves them to tears. They are very smart too ( I believe in the top 10 in intellegence), so easy to train. The viscous tag is just not warranted.

Well, they are certainly more beautiful than rottweilers and pit bulls. However I don't want to get a dobermann since they are huge. I prefer small dogs, but not too small that I may accidentally step on one. I live in a condo.

I've had a dobermann and need to give him away to another family because I need to from my boss of my place I rented from.. And I had no money to rent another place and it was and still is the most worst thing I had to do in my life!!!! I miss my dobermann!!! Nobody can replace him!
