Can I let rabbits just roam my property? I live in a rural area and there are 1000's of acres around my house. Do rabbits lose their instinct? Can you release them to the wild and have them stick around?
@WinMOD42 Domestic rabbits cannot be released into the wild, their instincts are not the same as a wild rabbits, they do not know how to burrow for safety and wild rabbits would not accept them into their groups. This footage was shot in my back garden, which is small enough that they are safe but big enough for them to have the freedom they enjoy. A domestic rabbit wouldnt be wary of predators and wouldnt survive very long. :)
@WinMOD42 - The best enviroment for a pet rabbit is one that mimicks their wild friends, a large run and large hutch or even a shed like mine live in, enough space to really stretch and forage in the grasses etc, but be safe at the same time. thanks for watching the video *waves*
