Red River Flood of 1997: Second Crest at Breckenridge I

I was with the Coast Guard (DRU) in 1997 and one of the Boat crews somehow got the red chow dog into the boat as it was stranded on a snowpile for days. I took alot of people back to their homes to retrive pets and medications left behind. Also fed alot of pets on the way. now I'm retired and live about 75 miles south

Read the book "Red River Rising" by Ashley Shelby. Scientists at the University of North Dakota predicted the flood, but the Grand Forks Herald wrote such a harsh editorial that the scientists basically shut their mouths about their prediction. It's all in Shelby's fine book.
