  • if you wanted to do a pattern but you wanted it to go off the shoulders, how would you do that?

  • hmmm I think i would have kept the patterns in their envelope and still have put them in the binder like you did. That way they would all be in one place. If you ended up with tons of patterns you could always have separate binders for costumes, skirts, tops, etc.

  • @alluringcharm5 I have over 200 patterns now so that would be a whole lot of binders to flip through. I can fit all the envelopes in two 3 inch binders and the patterns are kept in order in two wooden crates.

  • @aglanceatmyworld Wow that is a lot of patterns. I am glad that this system works for you but i think it would not work so well for me. I like keeping things together ;D. But even with that having them in a binder is a great idea. Once we get everything unpacked, i may have to put them in binders, instead of keeping them in boxes. I think you are doing an awesome job with your videos, so keep up the good work!

  • Love it! :-)

  • Thank you Whitney this is a great idea... In fact it's really working for me :) love your videos

  • Great Idea

    Thanks

    Billie

  • i love the idea

  • Nice! Looks like a good system ... cute video! :)

  • I puy my pattern in a glad transparent baggie ziplock type I put the pattern pieces inside and the front of the pattern to the outside so I know which pattern it is

  • every what do you do a vid or show?

  • I do a regular video each Wednesday so any other videos are just extra for run :)

  • Great system Whitney! Now you can find them easily.

Hmmm maybe you could show us how to read a pattern or put it together I have one and its just looking at me LOL

  • Last week I was cleaning up a box of crafts and found a brown envelope so I tucked a poppet pattern inside and thought: "I can do that to all my printed patterns" today I see your video and think: I can do that for all my patterns!! :D But I don' have so many yet.

  • Haha that's awesome that you had just thought of that :)

  • I'm seriously impressed by how organized you are! I have tons of stuff but not enough room for everything. This is a great idea!

  • Hehe, thanks...sadly it's just my craft stuff that is organized and not the rest of my stuff

  • I use an accordion folder for my patterns. I don't have very many so far so it works really well. I have two patterns per section.

  • Thanks for making a video! I love organizing crafty things and seeing how other people organize their stuff :)

  • @aglanceatmyworld I adore being organized, it makes life so much easier :D I'm currently saving jars so I can have hubbie make a jar knick-knack rack (where you nail the lids to a board and put things in the jars and keep them up on the rack by screwing the jar to the lid)

  • ooh I like that too!

I'm thinking about doing that later in my own house (we rent a place)

  • I do the same thing for my patterns except I packing tape the old envelopes onto the new ones (mostly because I am a very visual person and all the numbers would confuse me) they are all in an old DJ case (a wooden box that radio djs use to put cds in before mp3s) it fits almost 50 patterns.

  • That's awesome!

  • Isn't that the music they use for ThreadBanger's 'Decor It Yourself?'

  • It is the same music (I noticed that recently)...it's royalty free by Kevin MacLeod so anyone can use it.
