jtarraj is right, this is the way we have to think, but then wakadudel is also right because we live in a overcontroled world. I don't know what country s/he is talking about, but in most countries, maybe in all the developed ones, it is the same. You buy your own land and along come these gangster to tell you that you can't do this, you can't do that. You have to pay tax for this people and on top of it, THEY decide what YOU can do, what YOU can't.
To live simply is complicated in today's world, but everyone can do small things as well as big ones. Simplicity is inside as well as outside. What can you do to create both more space and more time in your daily life? How can you reflect on where your life is going, and how can you take more time to just be with those you love? Notice a flower, a sunset, a smile. THEN consider your options about house and land. You can do it. You have two hands and a wonderful mind.
only problem is......every square inch of this country is owned by someone. besides, some municipality or zoning officer or building inspector would be chomping on your ass in two seconds. and do you believe b of a or citigroup is going to stand for building homes with no mortgages?
