  • The people of Illinois sent this to Washington.

  • debt is a myth?! WTF was all that debt ceiling argument about? 14.5 trillions in national debt and we need a 2 trillions raise by trimming 1 trillion in course of 10 years? And didn't we give 14 trillions to bail out foreign banks that contributed to this mess? Why is no one talking about that?!

  • Another Democrat from Illinois who doesn't get it. Shocking.

  • GOODBYE HARE!

For the first time in my adult lifetime, I'm really proud of my country.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • After tonight you shall not have to worry about the "myth" anymore soon to be ex-congressman Hare.

  • Um, he didn't say that the $13.3 trillion debt is a myth. At least not in this clip. He said you can spend. According to him, the myth is that you can't spend while the country is in debt.

I'm not from Illinois, and I don't know anything about this guy, so maybe he actually said what you're purporting somewhere else? But it smells like Republican spin from here.

  • @cgrbutterflyfish "every minute i have here is going to be spent trying to debunk the myth that this country is in debt and we just can't spend." Now by reading exactly what he said and having higher than a 3rd grade reading comprehension, what he is stating is that the debt is the myth and that we shouldn't stop spending because of this myth. I don't care if your an independent, republican or democrat, that is what he is stating. It smells like a democrat defensive spin from you. Burn!!

  • @BigHall22 You're not very bright, are you? There's a comma in there. "every minute i have here is going to be spent trying to debunk the myth that this country is in debt, and we just can't spend." -- i.e. the myth that because we are in debt [COMMA] we can't spend.

And I'm not a democrat. I'm registered unenrolled/independant, thanks. Nice try, though. "Burn." What are you, 11? Congratulations on your 4th grade education, then.

  • @cgrbutterflyfish

Independent huh? I see, that explains everything I need to know about you. This conversation is over.

  • @BigHall22 LOL. I thought the conversation was over three months ago. It took you this long to think up that comeback? And the best you can do is an ad hoc where you dismiss my opinion because I'm not enrolled in a political party? Okay then. Take your ball and go home. Maybe I overestimated your education level when I guessed 4th grade.

  • Hare Brained!!!!

  • What sane person would vote for this idiot?

  • @Quanefel A liberal. Oh wait, you did say sane didn't you? I guess that disqualifies liberals.

  • PHIL is such a koolaid drinker. His world is upside down. He's a discredit to my district. What type of political system is it that produces progressives with this much hatred of the American free market system as this? What Marxist ideologue took this man to the woodshed and rewired his brain cells, reconditioned him into this sullen, communist robot?

  • thats almost as good as saying giving taxcuts helps the deficit.. look at the chart over the last 30 years of cutting taxes for the wealthy

  • @frogman007 .. The deficit is caused by over spending, not by people keeping the money they earned.

  • The debt is an effect of the American people contracting with the Federal Government as a "Person". There-by allowing the federal reserve to issue a credit, known as a federal reserve note, to it's contractees for the trade of goods and services. Under this contract, all contractees agree to pay the federal reserve a service fee on the notes they issue. This is where the "Debt" comes from. In ancient days it was given named usury.

This is, in it's truest form, evil. Plain, Not So Sweet & Simple!

  • This fat boy would eat dog turds to make a buck

  • there are people who will believe this as fact those people are called kool-aid drinkers and also called democrats

  • Fatty don't care if he gets fatter.

  • I still can't figure out which is worse, these asinine representatives, or the stupid people who vote for them...

  • What planet has this guy been on. Oh well, I expect this from a democrat congress.

  • He must be part of Princes Pelosies 92 member Democratic Progressive Caucus. Or maybe hes still reading from talking points left by Ralm...LMAO he didnt get the new memo, better yet borrow PBO's telepromter..

  • Unbelievable... What's your budget look like?

  • These are the type of Morons that don't know how to balance a check book.

  • Phil Hare is living proof that "it's not what you know, but who you blow!"

  • He needs to be strung up with all our other liberal Chicago mafia criminal scum bag political figures! It's time to take this state away from Chicago by force!!!

  • Thumbs up if Limbaugh sent you here!

  • What a Jack Ass!

  • Cool, I'm gonna use that logic in my own finances. Off to buy a Mercedes!!! Gosh, I feel so liberated!

  • another delusional Democrat......stay smart Illinois

  • Keep voting this idiot into the Congress, Illinois. You have a tradition to uphold.

  • Let me tell you how it will be There's one for you, nineteen for me 'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman Should 40% appear too small Be thankful I don't take it all 'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah I'm the taxman If you drive a car, I'll tax the street, If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat. If you get too cold I'll tax the heat, If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet. Don't ask me what I want it for If you don't want to pay some more Cause I'm the taxman
  • Besides the color of his skin, I see no difference between him and obama. Both are equally stupid.

  • Video cropped Hare to suggest he's debunking the "myth that this country is in debt." A video posted to YouTube on September 13 cropped Hare's speech. The onscreen text then asked "$13.3 Trillion is a myth?" In fact, the larger context makes it clear what he meant.

  • Hare, when you said, "I'm not an economist" you were right. You should just keep saying that.

  • This is the same guy that said he does not care about the constitution !

What more needs to be said ?

  • This video IS taking Rep. Hare out of context. He is saying that the myth is that "this country is in debt AND we can't spend." Really, he meant to say that the common wisdom, "because this country is in debt, we can't spend," is false. But Rep. Hare is NOT saying that the debt itself is a myth. Of course, Rep. Hare should have to explain why he thinks we can or should continue to DEFICIT spend in light of our debt, which is the real issue. As usual, politicians dance around the real issue.

  • man this guy is a genius, he is Presidential in his demeanor

  • He's not claiming the country's NOT in debt. He's claiming that it DOESN'T MEAN you CAN'T SPEND! Read the end of the quote.

Replace "country" for "household" or "business" or "individual"... does that make any sense at all? So let me see if I've got this right: You go into more debt in order to pay off debt. Gee, I just passed Obamanomics 101....

  • Another lib whack job that needs to be voted out on his fat ass.

  • It's obvious this video has more to do with the YouTube sock puppet poster education at the Breitbart School of Manipulative Media Arts.

Even Fox News is running with it.

Go to Media Matters for the debunking.

    I can only laugh.

  • @prairiski Yeah, I bet I'll really trust Media Matters, too, when they're the masters of deception. lol

  • @boredomstryks Really? And you know this how? From whom? Did you even bother to check it out?

    Why bother?

Without proofing the facts of what was really said by looking at raw unedited video or transcripts, think whatever you want using whatever sources you choose to believe that fits your own obviously limited ideological POV while convincing yourself that your viewpoint is any better than another's only satisfies your own disjointed paradigm.

    Good luck with that.

  • "High unemployment is a myth. Everyone is employed. We democrats created the greatest economy in human history." ~ Phil Hare

  • After November most Democrats will be a myth.

  • Most Democrats have no real-world or business budget balancing experience, with BO being the most obvious example. What an idiot this Hare guy is. Nov 2, we're going to destroy guys like this.

  • he and his friends want to run your life. Yea Big Gov. That's sarcasm for NO F#*king way do I want these A#*holes in my pocket, paychecks, healthcare etc....

  • The Party of Food Stamps strikes again.

  • Hmmm...Phil Hare does not know the answer to "2-3=?"

When a man spends his entire life living on somebody else's dime, spending is all he knows how to do well.

  • Are all you people in Illinois idiots? Why do you keep electing these bozos?

  • Wow, fat and stupid are actually interconnected.

  • Oh look, it's the idiot who said he doesn't follow the Constitution. The U.S. Congress runs this country, not the President. The Democrats have controlled Congress since January of 2007 and that is when the bottom began to drop out under Nancy Pelosi.

  • It's because of out of touch, clueless clowns like Hare is the reason why the tea party and americans in general are so pissed off at congress.

  • how about i sped YOUR money Phil?

oh wait, it's my tax dollars that pays your salary, so yeah, i shouldnt even have to ask.

fork it over you fat bastard.

  • We need another "Ronald Reagan" in the White House! Anyone who can win 49 of the 50 states! Man! Now THAT'S a mandate!

  • Prepare to retreat! We have no choice, we can't repel stupidity of THAT magnitude!

  • I agree with the Representative. We don't owe $14 trillion. That's frickin' impossible. Who could possibly spend $14 trillion dollars!?

I'm sure it's just a typo on the Visa bill. I'll call them in the morning and get this worked out.

  • If we close our eyes and clap our hands it will vanish. Really! A lefty promised me it would.

  • The end of this video is misleading. Sure the current debt is $13.3 trillion, but that isn't the "real debt", when you factor in unfunded liabilities (social security, medicare, medicaid... now Obamacare and whatever else this regime has up it's sleeve). Anyone who's paying attention knows this is well over $100 trillion, and some are even saying as high as $200 trillion now. Hey progressives, do you think we can just close our eyes and it will go away. Scary times are coming.

  • @rabair

Yep blame progressives for Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, 2 Unfunded wars, civil rights, environmental regulations, the space program, oh and throw in any future potential maybe possible debt and let's call it 500 trillion.

Scary times started with Bush 2 and you guys have such short memories when it comes to GWB and all the scum lobbyists that ran the government during GWBs 8 years. Can you say Jack Abramoff.

  • @craplanner1 You're really not worth anyone's time, except of course your freshman political science professor who prides himself on filling your head with false history and propaganda... But I just find it funny that you mock me for having a short memory... after noting that I talked about Social Security (not a Bush program, but one he knew was broke and attempted to reform btw). Then you bash Bush - who's got the short memory. BTW, Bush was a progressive too. Smarten up kid.

  • @rabair Obviously I struck a nerve and made it worth your time to respond.

And will you be the first one to sink your social security into stocks? Yea Bush wanted to reform Social Security by fattening up the fat cats on Wall Street.

    Wise up you dupe!

  • @craplanner1 I really can't believe I'm wasting 20 more seconds responding to you, but I only hope you can get out of the ideological world you live in and think an independent thought. Again, Bush spent too much and was a progressive himself, but to be clear he wanted to offer the OPTION for people to CHOOSE to invest a tiny percentage of what they were being taxed for SS in to stocks, which everyone knows has a better return than bankrupt social security.

  • @rabair @rabair Ah again you respond against your better judgment.

Yes better return but more risk and of course higher management fees as a percentage of investment.

But anyway, you keep saying Bush was a progressive and in some ways he was...who would've thought to use the NSA to spy on Americans or find radical ways to get Poppy Bush's Carlyle Group money by like going to war in Iraq?

And the way he shredded the Constitution...simply brilliantly progressive.

  • @craplanner1 we can debate specifics and Bush all day long but that doesn't change a thing. We've been headed slowly down the wrong path for a century and virtually no one has the balls to take the necessary drastic measures to fix things. We now have a regime who knows enough history that it's clear they're deliberately destroying us (their own words, actions and associates make this clear too). If you think the future looks bright, I envy you....

  • @craplanner1 ... just note the chaos and riots that have only begun in Europe as they try to make cuts after digging their own graves, while we are racing toward the position they now find themselves in. It's going to get rough, I just hope you prepare yourself.

  • @rabair Yes the chaos is spreading it will be here November 3rd. By the way, what path do you think we should go down? Explain, enumerate, or shut up about "the wrong path."

  • This jerk is the same guy who said "The Constitution of the USA, does not matter" to him. THE SAME CONSTITUTION HE SWORE AN OATH TO.

    Another democratraitor.

  • Phil Hare is Peoples' Exhibit A in the case for complete state separatism, if only so that people "smart" enough to send a man like this to Congress will be the only ones who suffer the effects of his policy decisions.

My respect for Illinois is at a premium these days, especially if its population deems this man worthy of Congresshood.

  • BTW; regulation of the financial industry?

So you're telling me the government, which destroys billions every year with spending on ridiculous things, can regulate the financial industry? They can't even regulate themselves, how can they regulate anything else?

Germany has an unofficial national debt of 6.2 trillion Euros. And that without fighting a war. It comes simply from 40 years of wasteful spending. Literally.

  • Soon the US will be like the EU. And then I'm going to laugh very loudly at the Americans who were stupid enough to vote for "hope" and "change".

Because that "change" will bite you in the ass on a scale you can't even imagine.

You think it's bad now? It will get a lot worse. Greece was just the beginning.

  • @higuma75 You don't really the senile old man or that idiot from Alaska would've done any better, do you? They're two sides of the same coin. Same wars. Same bailouts. Same taxes. And same lies. They voted for Obama cause hope is about all that is left. The problem is that when shit hits the fan, the people on the hill know they'll make it just fine.

  • This guy is perfect example of the kind of representative that needs to be voted out in November.

  • @cornbutter100 This guy is the perfect example of why more people should use birth control.

  • Hare and Pete Stark are fucking retards.

  • He looks like Basil Marceaux dot com, but Basil Marceaux dot com makes more sense.

  • @Crevek Heh ouch...

  • If I were running against this tool, I would simply film a commercial showing a reporter showing these remarks to ordinary people in the street and then asking what they think. Then ask, "Is this the kind of nonsense you wish to have representing you in Congress? Really?"

    Obama. Worst. President. EVER.

  • At the end there needs to be the numbers 13,000,000,000,000 with all those zeros printed out really big as well as the words . That is a staggering sum.

  • I think Hare just slit his own wrists.

  • Of course it is a myth... it gives them free reign to spend spend spend if they can deny or refuse to believe that we have the highest deficit by percentage of nations GDP (the real indicator of debt) since the Great Depression.

  • He inherited what barny frank and co pushed through.

  • Wait, didn't the Democrats take control in 2006? Hasn't the national debt grown by over $5 trillion since 2006? Doesn't Congress spend the money? I might be wrong, since I'm just a "union lockstep voter" like you dems want me to be.

I can't believe that my congressman and former classmate is saying stuff as stupid as this.

  • @uniondemocrat

you know you are right...one difference...TWO WARS that have cost Trillions!!! And deregulation of financial firms happened on the Republican majority lead Congress during G.W. Bush first term...just sayin'

  • @foxysmitty1967 There was no deregulation of the financial industry under Bush, the regulations that failed were inherited from Clinton era reforms. GW Bush actually wanted increased regulation, he was rebuffed by congressional Democrats.

And another thing: both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars to date have cost less than 25% of the debt accumulated in the 4 years the Democrats have controlled Congress.

Get your talking points right before making an ass of yourself.

  • @TheLastBrainLeft you have bo idea what the fuck your talking about. its probley best you keep your opinions to yourself especially if your gonna defend bush because your always gonna loose.

  • yeah he inherited that debt from bush, oh and the housing crisis....How quickly we for get the effects of deregulation.....

  • @foxysmitty1967 Yep, all the debt was inherited from Bush; Obama hasn't spent a dime more than the government takes in revenue, except a trillion or so a year... pocket change.

And the housing crisis? This is where Freddie and Fannie took all the risky loans and the government pushed "home ownership" as an American "right"... and then realized we had tons of loans nobody would ever pay.

The Dems who protected Fred & Fan from investigation and pushed loans, clearly uninvolved.
