HA HA reverse MODE the likes of Numark TT500 n Stanton ST150 have adopted the reverse mode not sure about Vestax never owned one ,for people who dont know SHITTY SOUNDLAB turntables have been doing this for Years man with no mods just a 3.5mm jack/switch at the back Nothing NEW..!
hi johnatan i have a question about the technics 1200s (which im about to buy, yay me) anyways, i wonder if i need to have a phono preamp for them? i have a slightly old amp called technics su x102 and i wonder if i need to invest in a phono preamp...
Would it not make more sense to just solder a little piece of wire to the chip? That grabber clip can easily move around and touch other pins causing a short and ruining you table. Just seems a little Mickey Mouse to me.
Yeah, you could use a very small soldering iron (if you had one - how many DJ's do ??) - the clip system lets you fit it without any special tools or knowledge - it's 'numpty proof' - however, you must to be able to count up to 5.... this might be a problem for some people I know. The clip is very strong & cant come off on it's own. The kit can also be removed very quickly & put back to how it was if you decide to sell your TT.
the reverse chip should work on the 1210 Marilyn22 as there is an article on the 4thstateaudio website that say's "The revTech 1200 - Technics 1200 / 1210"
They used to make these.... dont know if the company is still around... i beleive they are hard to find now... maybe ebay... but they used to be called vinyl touch... same concept to plug them in.

Discard green pincer thingy and solder wire instead. Or put small blob of silicon on pincer/pcb to secure... ;)

@ Marilyn22 / 32JSE
It's impossible to do harm to a deck, as the coupling between the
reversing module and the main board uses micropower logic.
In normal use, whenever you press the STOP button, an unmodded T-12 automatically goes into reverse anyway, everytime.. That's exactly
how the braking system works on these ! Re warranty concerns, as no physical modifications are made to the deck, there's nothing to infringe.

Black plate is called a 'platter'. Good thing to use for screws is a magnet so you don't loose any. :)
