  • Wow I'm a Boise State fan and I think their band sounds really good!

  • Do people in Idaho root for the Seahawks? I've never thought of it

  • Go Vandals :D

i love being in this band!!!

  • This band is so much fun!

  • Comment removed

  • Hahahahahahaha...ha.

    You're such a tool, 13atf.

  • ANY GUYS UP?

    im bored on cam 3g

  • Go Vandals!

  • Best band performance I ever saw was the U of I doing the "Yellow Submarine" song by the Beatles during a halftime show. The tuba section was the propeller of the Sub they formed on the field. That as impressive and it really got the crowd into it.

  • thats cool

  • Cool! Im in a high school marching band...What i wouldnt give to look like them

  • I have to ask, if you hate the video and us *so* much, then why do you keep posting? Wouldn't the mature thing be to just stop bothering us?

  • not our fault they're REAL men!

  • real men wearing faggotty skirts.

  • Yeah, pretty much. Still a bit too much choreography for my taste, but at least it isn't narration or something stupid like that.

Oh, and just to settle something, our fight song is nothing like yours. The intro and chant, sure. I am sure that was intentional for a bit of a "fuck you, U of I!" type thing, but the melodies are completely different. I do like the quote of the 1812 in yours though.

  • Wow... such hostility. It takes a really nasty and jealous person to look up this video and write such angry comments over a school rivalry. They have therapy for that, you know.

Honestly, you have to be REALLY jealous and bitter to look up this video and just post unneeded comments. Maybe you BSU fans can take that jealousy and actually write your own fight song instead of copying ours! Put that negative energy to work! Because our fight song is still better, despite your copying it for yours.

  • By the way, I wasn't trying to be a jerk with that last sentence. How much/what did you guys play?

  • There is a full version of our show elsewhere. That should give you a pretty good answer. As for the dancing bit we are drumming on recycle bins because part of the theme of the seahawks game was based around the idea of going green. So, we used recycle bins. We thought it would be great to do something different. This show was challenging because most of us play wind instruments and drumming took some getting used to. Does that answer your question?

  • Yay for bandos arguing about whose band is better. Now, I do go to Boise State, and I was in their marching band, but here's something that can settle the whole argument:

EVERY college marching band is terrible. Every. Single. One. None of them march well, most of them have terrible tone quality, and most of them play horribly out of tune.

The only real criticism I have is this: If you guys were on the field for 7 and a half minutes, why did you dance for almost half of the time?

  • you summed up what i was attempting to say! thank you for putting the right words in my stupid mouth. 13atf: i didn't mean to offend you. you can have your opinion and that is fine but if it is negative, youtube is not the place to display that. i'm not trying to say whether your band is better than ours and what not. all i am saying is that everyone's definition of "good" is different so why compare?

  • I go to BSU too. The University of Idaho's Marching Band is tons better. Their fight song is better. Its a fact I have to deal with going here. But we do have a football team that rocks. There's always trade offs I guess.

  • i totaly agree

  • This Vandal fan loves the Vandal Marching Band! Good job guys!

  • that is awesome!!! looks soo amazing, i wish i was there! Go Heather!

  • what ever. all i'm saying is that if you can't get your mentality of the drum corps, its hard to relate to your comments. maybe to your standards, we are the worst band in the country but if inviting high school bands to play at half time is to "un-drum corps" for you then we don't really care if you think we suck.

  • college band isnt drum corps...just saying. there's more to life than marching band. if you have to hate on other school's bands to try and make yourself look good then go ahead, but you already lost all your credibility by opening your mouth

  • ignore 13aft they obviously don't have any talent if they have to trash another band

  • but who got invited to an nfl game? and the only thing boise has is an athelitic program. you forget until you won the fiesta bowl no one knew even knew boise existed and since then that entire town has become full of nothing but posers. don't trash talent unless you have it.

  • so your basically acting like a spoiled child because your band can't do something like this cause it would overload your minds.

  • Holy crap that was awesome.

I flirted with the freaking fifty the entire time. It was a good spot to be.

  • high five for being the first hater on this youtube video! Espcially since the U OF I band owned Qwest field for 7.5 Minutes.

  • How are they bad when they were INVITED to perform?

  • you're a fuckin boise fan aren't you?

  • oh and one more thing there's a reason why at U of I we say "Half-time is game time!" and that's because this band rocks and we'll take your band on anytime anywhere. that is even implying that you have intelligence to be in one let alone college.

  • Heck yes U of I!

    I looove the band!

  • Yay, I'm so glad someone got video! Though I'm just off of the edge of the screen for almost the entire thing ;) And JC, the tubas wear skirts because it's tradition! Which is to say, I have no idea. But they're way more comfortable than pants, so I'm not about to start complaining...

  • I was at the game also and was totally mesmerized. Fantastic. I'm sure your routine will be copied.

  • I was at the game, you guys did GREAT (we totally dug the "Wipeout" section. Serious question, honestly no snark, but why were the tuba players wearing dresses?

  • Long story short, they're old cheerleader skirts from the 60's. It started in the 80's with one tuba player messing around, and has become tradition ever since

  • Awesome! Thanks for the answer.

  • Actually, unless the skirts have changed in the last 3 years, they are the old color guard (flag team) skirts, vandal alum 86-90

  • I'm sure your right, I'm just repeating what I was told, but then again you can't really trust a drunk tuba player....

  • Hey, there's my little sister! *waves frantically* You guys look good, wish I could've been there.

  • That show was so much fun! Go us!

  • One of the most fun things I have ever done! (although you CAN see me screw up.....)

  • Holy crap you guys!! That's awesome. Ran across this and had to watch it!! Wish I was still in the band!! :( GooOOOooo Vandals!!

  • YAY I love us =] It looks better than I expected

  • That was some fun stuff! Too bad they didn't get Come Out and Play on the video too! That was pretty epic as well!

    ~Euphonium pride!~

  • we fuckin owned that stadium.

  • we DID fuckin own that stadium :)

  • woot! ya thats it

  • VMB's the way to go.

  • we kick ass! i am in that band and that was sooo much fun to perform i only wish they had recorded all of the performance

  • GAH! I'm so excited for it to be performed at the Kibbie Dome... As soon as half time is over... it will probably be time to leave the game anyways!!!!
