  • one word...amazing!

  • FRENCH HORNS FTW!!!!

  • Holy Crap! That is some good multiphonics on the horn. I've tried but I never get anything to sound good.

  • That is very possible, i know how to do it. when i make a vid, Ill Show u I Can Do That! Its Possible, you need to learn how to do it.

  • Great job! It took me a long time to stop following my lips with my voice when I was first learning to use overtones. Creating that third tone for the first time was a thrill.

  • hey, are you doing the humming thing, or are you doing something else?

  • Nicely done, man.

  • WAIT HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!

  • certain fingerings mixed with a shape of the mouth (on any wind, particularly woodwinds) allows two pitches to simultaneously speak. it takes a heck of a lot of talent to even accomplish this, but to have this kind of ability is GREAT!

  • You hum in the back of your throat while you play a note, if you want to try on a french horn I recommend low low G (1 3)

  • You are just humming and playing at the same time. It sounds simple, when you hum with your mouth open in order to play the horn, your lips change, so it's hard to pitch the notes.

  • This is unbelievably good range for a multiphonics player.

  • its very uncommen to see a music peace for a french horn with multiphonics

  • It's uncommon for any wind instrument. There are a few classical pieces for horn that have them. Weber's Concertino in particular.

  • that is very hard to do. awesome!

  • This is ridiculously good. Excellent control of the multiphonics. The best I've ever heard on horn.

  • omg thats soooo cool!!! =D

  • best multiphonics ever

  • Haha. This is great.

  • i wasnt expecting that...

    really good =]

  • very nice!

  • Is there sheet music for this, or did you make this up? I need a good multiphonics piece. :)

  • what the beep

Im a horn player two and you gotta tell how to do this or Imma commit suicide

  • Omg...that is SOO kool!! xD AWESOME! I wanna be able to do that!

  • cool! I always wanted to be able to play double sounds! how ya make it?!

  • it requires playing the note, and half singing and humming

  • Could you like please show how you did this? I wanna know!

  • cool

  • dude! that is so cool! how do you do that?!

  • The way I learned it was first I sang random notes and playing at the same time, to learn what it felt like. then move on and play something from G below the staff up to middle C, and sing a fifth above that note (ex. play G, sing D). In my opinion, fifths are the most comfortable. After that, move the note you're singing up and down in a scale like pattern, to train your ear and your voice.

  • fifths are ok, but fourths and 3rds sound better.

  • One of the best applications of multiphonics that I've ever heard.

  • your multiphonics and very good!

  • You did an impressive job on that horn. Its like you were made for the french horn! I also have a french horn too.

  • i really wish this player would post more videos.

  • thats one of the coolest things i've ever heard

  • i wish i could play that well

  • awesome..you do that so well!

  • Dude....that is pretty awesome!

  • good player

  • that's awesome dude... how do you play those polyphonics? i've always wanted to figure that out

  • I play FH, just singing the higher note of both, while playing the bass one. If you listen carefully, you will notice higher note sounds "singed".

It is not so difficoult, but it needs practice and affination. After all, sound is made by lips vibrating against mouthpiece and reverberating through the whole horn, you yet have your throat free to sing!

  • lol James Morrison

  • Well played! Is that an Alex 103? Looks like one anyway...

  • I've so wanted to be able to do that!

  • very good bravo

  • very nice!!!

  • good :))

  • Very well done. You can really hear all these other overtones come into play.

  • nice

  • Wow! That's some great multiphonics! I have a hard time moving only one line at a time.

  • Hi, I'm a tuba player.. It's really not as hard as it seems. Maybe it's easier on tuba, but you just hum as you play the note. It's crazy how your lips remain in the same tension when you hum other notes. It's so fun to do! I like doing 5ths and minor 3rds.

  • It might be a little harder on the horn, given the much smaller mouthpiece. For some players, adjusting to the vibration conflict in the embouchure requires a good bit of practice. The good and balanced tone this fellow achieved also benefited from a good acoustical setup. His results are excellent.

  • Im a tuba player too, but ive tried it on French horn,, and it's hard as crap, i cant even do it on my trumpet. But its easy on Tuba.

  • This is incredible!

  • woah! how do you do that!

  • very good i like the multiphonics

  • I'm not v good at them. Need to practise. Thats fantastic btw.

  • i love multiphonics on french horn more than in voice now...haha...

  • thats awesome!!

  • what you played was really great. how long have you been playing french horn. and how long did it take to learn how to learn the multiphonics?

  • very nice!!!

  • u are great budy!

  • multiphonics!!

  • abicim çok iyi olmuş, bravo...

  • yeahhh:))
