Just to make it absolutely clear- Wittenstein was NEVER in White Rose organization. He knew Hans Scholl, Alexander Schmorell. He even took famous pictures of a group just before departing to Russia. But the truth is that he is completely unreliable,since he was a member of Nazi Party!!!!!!!!!! Number - 7667868.

@6martita While I agree that he was not a member of the White Rose, his being in the Nazi Party has nothing to do with that. There were many reasons to become a part of that party and not all of them were because you agreed with their politics.

One of the biggest problems I see in people interpreting history is, people use knowledge that is revealed after the fact and forget those in the time period didn't share the luxury of seeing into the future.

This makes a huge difference in understanding history. This other problem of perverting history to the advantage of the position of the person relaying history is countered a bit better with rooting out the multiple causes and tracing it down to specific instances that support a sort of domino effect.
