My two faverit wolf movies are American Ware wolf in london, and the original Howling .also her boyfreind should have been arested and the hot chick is a T.V acress from that show School survivle .
Not sure wich is my favorite werewolf movie. A lot of good ones, Bad Moon - An Americian Werewolf in London/Paris - The Wolfman (Original) - The Howling (1-4-5-6(I know most people hate those ones but I don't care)) - Silver Bullet - Wolf (W/ Jack N.) etc etc. I've been a HUGE werewolf movie fan since I'm a kid.
It's good to hear that you like An American Werewolf in Paris, I personally love that one but everyone always craps on it. I recently watched the Wolfman remake, I definitely liked it more than the critics that's for sure, although I wasn't a big fan of Benicio Del Toro's performance in it, but Anthony Hopkins was sturdy as ever. Shout Factory is a great company I hope they can work the dispute out so they can get the rights.
Oh and wasn't trying to sound like a jerk when I asked if you've seen a lot of werewolf movies, it's just that I haven't seen many great werewolf movies, there seems to be a lot of really bad ones out there, especially in the Howling series, maybe I was judging this one against the previous ones in the series :p.
Really? Have you seen a lot of werewolf movies? Granted The Howling Reborn seems more geared towards a younger audience but it is still better than nearly every other Howling sequel.
I really enjoyed your review. You now are my go to guy for movie reviews!
I love to hate to say this, but I adored this movie. This is definitely one of the best, if not the best sequel. The warewolf designs do not hold a candle to the original film design and was clearly influenced by Underworld designs. The acting was surprisingly good and I genuinely accepted that these kids grew up in NYC. They reminded me of the upper middle class and rich kids I grew up with in NY. S! MJ
I just watched this. It should be subtitled, "An Untold Tale of Harry Potter" instead of "Reborn" The lead actor looked like Daniel Radcliffe and even had some of Daniel's acting style. This movie had nothing new. I just wish the female lead had a better seductive scene (of the father) than the one she had. I was waiting for Hermonie to come bail out this guy. Where the hell was Ron?
hahaa yup, I mentioned that in the review he looks a lot like Harry Potter with the glasses on, but without them I think he looks like Jared Leto , big change from glasses to no glasses. Don't tell anyone but I've never watched the Harry Potter movies :x . They just never appealed to me, I caught a few minutes here and there of some of the first ones and I wasn't impressed. The last 2 movies looked darker and more interesting though but everyone said I need to watch them all
This howling reborn wasn't bad at all as I thought it was going to be. The trailer made it look absolutely awful but I still wanted to see it cos there haven't been an howling movie in a long time. I enjoyed a lot of werewolf movies, I liked Cursed, Ginger Snaps but probably my absolute favorite is Howling 3 The Marsupials, I think that's the best werewolf movie of all time. Good review though, the story was really strong, I thought. The scenes during the credits were really good.
I agree, and I actually watched the movie before I saw the trailer, had I watched the trailer first I probably wouldn't have watched the movie. The trailer is awful and makes it look like Twilight. I personally wasn't a fan of Howling 3 Marsupials , that's the one where they are in Australia right? I've seen them all at one time but it's been a while. Have you seen Dog Soldiers or American Werewolf in London?
Thanks for the comment and support! The credit scenes really worked well
@Absolutesublime1 I heard about it before the trailer, so I was excited. Then the time came around to check out if there was a trailer for it, there was, then my excitement level went down a lot, down to a 50/50 chance, to none, that I'll watch it but ultimately was curious about it and happily surprised overall, it was pretty good. Yeah, howling 3 was in Australia, hah. I have seen those movies and I liked them, can't remember too much of dog soldiers though but I remember liking it.
Big fan of the Howling series. The first is great, the rest can be pretty bad, but most are fun bad. Great revies. Oh and favorite werewolf movie is The Howling with Dog Soldiers being a close second.
Cool review Jay :) I haven't seen this yet, but i guess i give it a chance... Have you seen the Hellraiser: Revelations movie yet?? Not very good reviews for this one and i was shocked that Doug Bradley isn't Pinhead in this new sequel!! Well i watch this film tonight and i don't have high expectation at all :D
I don't think so....It fails where almost every werewolf movie fails.....no good transformation scene(the 3 movies I mentioned each have several unique transformations/werewolf designs created by special effects masters.)
The werewolf suits look like cheap knock of's of the first Howling.
The action and gore are topnotch and I do love the movie for that but the werewolf's looked cheap and moved too "ballerina"like for me to include them with the mighty 3.
Hi Jay, hows it goin. My favorite Werewolf movie is BY FAR An American Werewolf in London. I feel that the "Werewolf" sub-genre is severly lacking.....all of my favorite werewolf movies have come and gone long ago. I am desperately awaiting a great one to emerge
hahaa I will say I watched the movie before I saw the trailer, the trailer makes it look exactly like Twilight and while there are a lot of Twilight aspects to the movie , it isn't absolute trash but it could have been a lot better. I certainly would not recommend anyone to go run out and see the movie but at the same time it's slightly better than average. It's the best of the howling sequels but that isn't saying much.
Oh and I'm going to wait and post the Halloween collab video until the friday before Halloween, because right now Halloween seems too far away and it would make more sense to post it closer to it. Thanks again for being a part of it, hope you're enjoying your weekend thus far.
Ones I wanna see: In the company of wolves, Wolfen, Ginger Snaps.
And about The Wolf Man re-make: If they had kept Mark Romanek as the director, I bet it would have been way better. You can really tell which part of it is good, and when it starts to go sour(thanks to Joe Johnston).
My favourite werewolf movie is Underworld. I love the storyline putting two of the most popular mythical creatures in a fight very cool its like the werewolf and vampire version of Freddy vs Jason or AVP.
It was pretty bad. The last half is complete garbage. The special effects at the end were more like a bad fan film than a professional movie. They tried to hide the bad effects with a lot of camera movements and quick shots, but it still looked awful. The characters and the script completely fell apart in the last half. The fist half of the movie was good. The characters were interesting, I like the teen angle, Lindsey Shaw and Landon Liboiron were very good.
Hey thanks, and thanks for subscribing! I love Dog Soldiers as well. This one is the best of the Howling sequels but that isn't saying much :p If you end up checking this one out, let me know what you think of it. Hope you have a great weekend!
I still haven't seen the remake, so I can't judge, but all I hear is negativity towards it. I will be checking it out soon though, hoping it will be better than all the reviews I've seen :/ . I don't always go with popular opinion anyways.

I actually just saw "The Howling" for the first time the other night, and it was pretty good, but for me it was maybe a little over-hyped. I think I'll pass on the sequels. As for my favorite werewolf movie... gonna have to go with "Ginger Snaps".

Obviously the 'Best Werewolf movie' is a difficult one for the simple fact that most are complete tripe.
The best would include,
American Werewolf in London
Wolfman (imo quite satisfying werewolf action with some credible acting thanks to Hopkins)
Wolf (Jack Nicolson)
Dog Soldiers (but crap werewolves)
Bad moon has some quite good dialog, but its a bit low budget for my taste.
The Underwold movies were quite fun I guess.
