i got a ak 47 a few weeks ago and there is rust on the slide bars that i cant get to i have put hoppys 9 and rem oil on it and soaked it in both and it wont go away also there is rust inside of the reciever that i cant get to and i soaked in in both oils also but wont go away the reciever cover rust really east too what can i do to help it

get a sniper. like a 30-06 rifle. i got a ww2 12 gauge trench shotgun, real nice, if you hold the trigger, each pump can shoot a shot. i also have a karbiner kult 98 (k98) from ww2. and i got a ruger 10 22 also, and a carcano british/french ww2 era. and a hi point 9mm (low price gun)

@jwlindy cali isone of the worst states to live in. all those guns are illegal in cali ecept the10-22 here in cali u cant get a ar-15 unless it has a fixed 5 round clip

nice bit of kit there RR,you should get a small piano heater for your gun box it dont use up much power to run it and its just enough to keep the rust at bay ,a lot of are lads use them if there gun boxs are in the attic,if ive been out shooting in the wet or cold i put my rifles by a heater for 10 min just to get the damp off them ;-)

have u ever tried duracoating anything? just curious.... i was thinking of doing a couple of my guns in duracoart. you should do some ak vs. ar acuracy tests from a bench.
