How exactly does it work please!! install amplitube, get a compatible soundcard, plug the guitar to the computer line in, do i also need an amplifier to get the sound out? what sort of speakers are you using? please if you answer this you are god i cant fnd the information!!!! thanks
is it possible to connect your computer so that the sound goes through a guitar amp instead of PC speakers? and if so do you think it would sound good? as i want to get the most out of my guitar.
@Zabzag I switched the computer to a newer one, and I get a lot more noise in comparison to the old Realtek sound card. I'm planning to get a SB live and SB audigy for noise comparison.
@1982hitman Cheers for the reply! I have a SB audigy in mine at the moment, I'm just thinking maybe it's picking up some electrical "noise".
Interestingly, I switched off the cabinet option and had the heads going through the speakers and it cut the noise ratio quite a lot. Don't know why I didn't think of it sooner haha.
Hey! can you guys recommend a cheap soundcard that works for this? when I try to get this thing to work on my computer it just sqeels :( yes I DO have the Asio4All v2 drivers
hey sir i have a problem u said put it in line in port mine is no effect when u put in line in..but in mic in u can hear effects and there are all this noisy sound..how do i get rid of noisy sound..thanks if u can help
get asio drivers or a direct input sound card. I recommend a USB or firewire interface with preamps that have their own dedicated ASIO drivers which by-pass the OS sound drivers! I use Mackie Onyx 1620 and the Mackie Satellite for portable uses!
do you have one of these external sound card of 300$ or you do it with the original of the pc, we do it by the second way but it sounds with a lot of noise even if you don't put a distortion
I'd buy SD SH-5 custom or SH-4 JB. Both are pretty cool. However I prefer pickups with lower output, guitars usualy sound better with them and with turning down volume on your guitar you can get decent clean sound. You won't get that with SH-5 or SH-4. If you don't care about clean sound, buy one of those two. Cheers!
sounds great good job bro guitar sounds real great but it seems the backing track have a bunch of reverb or something it cover up alot of your good lead guitar that makes me sad anyway good job bro
hey there, most of the guys will tell ya that black standard is the ugliest of all les pauls.. it ain't no '59 candy burst, it has that in your face rock and roll attitude. I hope you'll like it and love it afterwards.. cheers!
Well, I've not played in absolutely ages, but since it was pointless putting all that hard-earned money in the bank considering the currrent interest rates, I bought the guitar today. I wouldn't call it 'gorgeous', but it looks really, really cool. I'm euphoric :D So now I just need to shake the rust off to play it like it deserves to be played!
I've just noticed I never commented on your stellar peformance. Hope to see more from you like this.
Hey man, how does this thing sound good clean? I'm thinking on putting on Phat Cats in my Les Paul, and I wanna know if it's going to sound good or suck.
What's the diffrence between this software and guitar rig 3 ? I've GR3 and I find it really cool, so I just want to know if Amplitube is better or anything else.
2. reduce sound quality to 41000k a try to set buffer in amplitube so you don't have any latency or terrible sound.
3. once you've managed to get it working on 41000k, try 44100k. Sound is better, but also more demanding on computer. This video was recorded od 41000k sound quality.
my audio settings is sample rate:32k and buffer size 320. anything higher than that sounds terrible or have a latency.. the sound is great but i cant get any sustain . the note is cut-off too soon and i suspect that the noise gate is the culprit.. is there anything i can do to bypass the noise gate setting?
Hello! Now I write to you in English in order that you understand me well I have a problem with the amplitube, which happens to me is that it(he,she) has badly sound, everything resounds and sounds to tin.
Please, tell me, what sound card i need to play in amplitube like this? I have Realtek AC98 card in my motherboard - it's realy good card, latency with asio4all is very good, by sound quality is bad. And how i can plug my guitar to computer?
I've got even older sound card - realtek AC97! Try tweaking with input level and master output or reduce boost. That's the main key, you have to change it from one instrument to another. Set the buffer level as high as possible without creating latency, it makes the sound better. And I plug directly into line in, no di-box. Click on video description for (more info). There are links with my amplitube settings.
Hell, I wouldn't even worry about that. Big deal...the headstock is in and sometimes out. What the hell is so interesting on the headstock!! NOTHING!! Great job with the video!!
dude Im getting a phat cat set in my schecter tempest they sound sooo badass thick enough for modern high gain rock but clean and twangy enough for the classic touch

hi there, they're very nice pickups. I'm not quite sure how they'll work on high gain, but at clean sounds, blues, rock and even harder things are just great. However, don't forget they act like single coils, so they hum a little.
yea like I dont play like metal or thrash or anything Im more of a post hardcore/experimental rock/heavy rock player
Ive played one in the neck position and it screams haha just never played a bridge phat cat but from your playing it sounds very thick or at least thick enough for rythym
and the hum issue, nothing a little boss noise suppressor cant fix! =D
it came with 490t & 490r set, which were decent enough. now I've started using lindy fralin paf set. 490's sound more modern than phat cats from seymour duncan.
Hey man, i love your sound - Though i'm having a problem with Amplitube 2.0 Live... It makes this irritating buzzing sound everytime i turn some distortion or overdrive on it... Please help? :(
Hi there, well.. I guess the problem comes from buffer. To make it easy, first of all, 1. plug into LINE-IN. 2. install Asio4all driver (use google). 3. Then reinstall amplitube and once inside click on settings (on top). You should see asio4all in output and a buffer panel on the bottom (click).
To make it as simple as it can be, more the buffer, better quality sound you get (especially in overdrive), but not every computer works fine with high buffer. I've got a 512k, but used to have 360k.
actually your problem is more likely related to your soundcard. i'm betting you use a laptop right? the only solution is to buy some kind of usb sound card / device and plug your guitar into that. that irritating noise is a problem with intel chipsets used in laptops. i think intel should be sued for it because it renders laptops unusable for anything related to the audio industry, and almost all laptops use intel chipsets.. sucks
Hi there, thanks for your kind words. I updated video info and there's a link with my amplitube setting. Somehow I just couldn't post a link here, so it took me a while to figure it out. . :-)
I tried to plug in my guitar directly to line-in but I don't get the output... I can see the waveforms but no output.... Please help me.... I have a creative soundblaster live 5.1 with asio4all ver 2.8 and a strat wid normal cables....
good tone, like some of my old killer nazareth albums, well, maybe you heard of, hair of the dog, razmanaz, love hurts, check them out, they tourin soon, old but wonderful rockin music.
ya mine does 2, but my dads does not, his mic port is clean throughout, he has 6-channel onboard audio but i fixed it, had to lower the volume 4 line in port
why dont people just buy there own real amp guitar rig it sounds better i have a marshall with bogner rig with mesa boogie retifiers nd loads off effects it sound awsome
I've got one vintage Marshall (it's obnoxiosly loud), but as long as I live in a flat it's impossible to play it at home. Right now I've got small solid state combo, which sound better that amplitube. But for some people amplitube is great option - especially if you're now able to spend several thousands dollars or euro on rig.
i have a onboard and crap soundcard (it comes with my Pcchips A31G motherboard)
and wheen i plug my guitar on my Pc, i get a VERY high noise, and a crap sound, what can be happening? i do not connect my PC at any other thing like a amp or something, i just plug my guitar in the microphone in.
Yes, you could.. but you have to use clean channel or the poweramp section. I'm playing thru small creative speakers which are rated 15 watts each. One way or the other, computer speakers are not the best solution for your electric guitar.
oh thanks, so is just as simple as connecting pedals to the clean channel of your amp, and it sounds good?, do you use a foot controller?, what hardware dou you use to connect it to the amp if i by example use a laptop?, i appreciate your answers
No, I don't use any controller - I'm trying to keep things simple. With laptop I'd use guitar cable into line in, amplitube processed signal would go from line out (or headphones out) into speakers/hifi audio or combo. That's the simplest way how to put it together. You'd need two guitar cables and two stereo jack reductions.
It's just a regular guitar cable, using small audio jack reduction into computer's line in. My friend is using some sort of PC DI box from behringer and the overall effect is very nice. But you'll be able to hear the difference when you turn down the volume on guitar - it'll get clean and sparkle.
Nice version!
Greetings from Argentina!

Again... awesome tone.. definitely trying it out!

ya mine does 2, but my dads does not, his mic port is clean throughout, he has 6-channel onboard audio but i fixed it, had to lower the volume 4 line in port

Hey GREAT guitar playing!
Hey how do you have your guitar connected
to the PC?
Because I tried the Line IN
connection and for some reason
it won't work, is there some settings
that I would possibly have to mod?

geplug it in2 mic, if that Sux balls plug it back into line in, and set line in port as recording device

guys, you have to use Asio4all driver (which is free) to reduce latency and all those cracks and unwanted souds.
guitar is directly into line in without anything else but regular cable. Thanks!

why dont people just buy there own real amp guitar rig it sounds better i have a marshall with bogner rig with mesa boogie retifiers nd loads off effects it sound awsome

I've got one vintage Marshall (it's obnoxiosly loud), but as long as I live in a flat it's impossible to play it at home. Right now I've got small solid state combo, which sound better that amplitube. But for some people amplitube is great option - especially if you're now able to spend several thousands dollars or euro on rig.

realy awesome,i love this program.
i have a question:
i have a onboard and crap soundcard (it comes with my Pcchips A31G motherboard)
and wheen i plug my guitar on my Pc, i get a VERY high noise, and a crap sound, what can be happening? i do not connect my PC at any other thing like a amp or something, i just plug my guitar in the microphone in.
(sorry for my inglish)

Try using line-in and ASIO-4-all driver, you'll be able to reduce noises to minimum.

i don't get it, you could use that software with your amp?
elinfiernoentusojos 4 years ago
Yes, you could.. but you have to use clean channel or the poweramp section. I'm playing thru small creative speakers which are rated 15 watts each. One way or the other, computer speakers are not the best solution for your electric guitar.

oh thanks, so is just as simple as connecting pedals to the clean channel of your amp, and it sounds good?, do you use a foot controller?, what hardware dou you use to connect it to the amp if i by example use a laptop?, i appreciate your answers
elinfiernoentusojos 4 years ago
No, I don't use any controller - I'm trying to keep things simple. With laptop I'd use guitar cable into line in, amplitube processed signal would go from line out (or headphones out) into speakers/hifi audio or combo. That's the simplest way how to put it together. You'd need two guitar cables and two stereo jack reductions.

Hi , what kind of connection do you use between the gitar and computer? i considered the StealthPlug but I've read a few not so good reviews
watchtheskies 4 years ago
It's just a regular guitar cable, using small audio jack reduction into computer's line in. My friend is using some sort of PC DI box from behringer and the overall effect is very nice. But you'll be able to hear the difference when you turn down the volume on guitar - it'll get clean and sparkle.
