Yes, even permafrost can melt eventually. The concern here is with the rapid pace of the melting and obviously people do contribute significantly to global rises in temperature due to our activities. However, that does not mean that there are not other contributors to global warming. The point is that we cannot go business-as-usual with all industrial activity and not expect severe consequences within a generation. It's really that simple.
