I wonder why my father who was a drafted solider in the Vietnam war and also served 2 full tours during that war for the U.S. army had such a silent life after the war! It really sucked having a father who wouldn't speak most my-life because of war! I don't believe he spoke over 2,000 words in my life time? I served TAD on the USS Turner Joy sometime after the Tonkin Gulf Incident. NO ONE that I met believed they were attacked that day. Even Robert McNamara has said that the attack never happened. SO was LBJ so passionate about defending the highly corrupt, very unpopular minority government of S. Vietnam? Vietnam was a Buddhist country and Diem was a Catholic.
