  • The 80's... the only time it was acceptable to use random civilians as meat shields

I miss movies like this... thank god for the expendables !

  • Yo me pregunto, cómo habrán hecho esta escena, Chabacano se llena bastante y luego pintar todo la estación del metro de otros colores y todavía los vagones pintados, debió haber sido un caos xD

  • Yay, Insurgentes subway station from Mexico City in the takes outside, while some takes inside the chase are in Observatorio station. Ahhh those days in mexico City! Looking itneresting in a dystopian style. :)

  • @Vecta also Chabacano subway station.

  • the best part

  • That was a bit harsh of Arnie, that guy may very well have still been alive, it was kind of unnecessary to have it in the film as it detracted from Arnie's 'heroism' in my opinion

  • @TheRhinehart86

He had no hesitation using that guy as a Human shield... LoL I love Arnie

  • @DarthUnicorn Lol, yeah, after everything that guy accomplished, every thing he saw, thought and learned, everyone he loved and hated, and it all culminates in him being convenient cover for some guy having a shoot out on an escalator. Its enough to turn you to nihilism :P

  • I thought using the innocent man as a human shield was pretty disgusting and shameful. I guess he was already dead anyway before he was used, but still pretty brutal...

  • poor meat shield guy...probably had a family that cared about him or something.

  • using that guy as a human shield lol!!! priceless!!!

  • is subway in mexico !!!

  • One of favorite line in his movie career is "GET TO THE CHOPPA!!!!!!!"""

  • lol @ the meat shield.

  • 2:18 that is how you deal with the TSA!

  • How can sharon stone go for an ugly old bastard like that?

  • I love the size of that tracking device, hehe.

  • The Richter Scream near the end of this video is 100% uncut win. I do that same face and scream when I'm hungry.

  • I know it looks cool and all, but how come the guards don't just shoot Arnie once he busts through the x-ray screen? The guards just disappear into thin air (or aaiihhrr as Arnie says it).

  • Goodness, was the video recorded with a calculator?! the audio is about 5 weeks behind with the video

  • lol. the subway security is completely useless

  • Looks like the video only works properly in the slowest setting 240p

  • Wow no idea why this got so messed up... Sorry everyone this video used to look great on here.

  • The poor random guy must have been thinking: "what the fuck did i do to deserve this shit???"

  • @thebadthinker2 "What the fuck did I do wrong?!"

  • @thebadthinker2 Who, the poor bastard Arnold uses for a shield? Yeah that sucks. I felt so sorry for that guy as a kid.

  • "Cleva gal"

  • People! Switch from 360p to 240p if you want the audio-video synced up!

  • @porsche911sbs It's much better thank you.

  • What a lousy post from a great scene...people sure do not know how top post videos.

Big thumbs down for the horrible quality, big thumbs up for the movie itself.

  • fuck!

This is what happens if shitty amateurs upload or rip a movie in an incorrect form.

  • What's wrong with the video? The sound's fine but it moves in ultra slow-motion :(

  • Why bother?

  • I like the part where the audio is synched correctly to the video....... wait .. shit...

  • That meatshield got into robocop program. Don't worry about him. He will good as new after couple surgeries.

  • @finalcut75 LOL dude i started like crying after i read that hahahahah best comment i've seen all day.

  • @finalcut75 oh yeah, same director as Robocop (also same director as Showgirls lol)

  • 3:29

"God Damnit Fisher, have you gone insane?"

    Sorry, I had to.

  • Sharon was fucking hot back in the 80's.im horny now!

  • @metalpsips -- ?? I thought it was Hillary Clinton, and the video a documentary of her campaign trail in 2008, fending off Republican naysayers. It's a movie...oh

Remember - she did "land under sniper fire"

  • 7:23 Hey, thats Mexico City, Chabacano subway station. Es la estacion Chabacano del Distrito Federal!!

  • my god this is laggy

  • Great picure quality, but sound is about 2 minutes off!

  • @alexalex3131 watch it in 240p

  • the meathsield still appears to be alive even after being shot several dozen times.

  • That meat shield dude should be a new killstreak/deathstreak perk in the next call of

    duty game!

  • 3:10-3:42 rules!! SHOOT EM' UP!! SHOOT EM' UP!! I LOVE IT!!

  • i love how in both Robocop and Total Recall (both Paul Verhoeven films).... he had to put in an over the top shotfest of a no-name dude getting shot to death. Most notably.... that dude in the meeting who got shot by Ed 209 from Robocop, and the escalator guy in total Recall. lol. Murphy also took hundreds of bullets before he became Robocop.

  • I bet that meatshield in the staircase had led plates in his backpack...

  • This film has some good music! The soundtrack really helps establishing the story.

  • I love the best part at 4:06

    "AAAAAAAAAAHHH!!"

  • @ZDLR221 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH and a blood vessel pops in his forehead probably. unutterably funny, every time!

  • @trenthouse4life

he could be a scanner rage. LOL

  • i like how the gaurds watch as he jumps throgh the glass and runs away

  • Great thing about this movie is that every character is Evil. Even Arnie. Love it.

  • Can anyone tell me what make of firearm that is that Arnold used on the escalator?

  • Emm not sure btw I counted 23 shots that the guy took on the escaltor

  • Thanks, but not quite what I was asking.

  • Ah yes, the 80s. When the future was made entirely of concrete and steel I-beams.

  • It's a 1990 film.

  • @packrat76

    Yeah, when it was released.

    Not when it was filmed.

  • @concordat It was a real architectural style called neobrutalism. The movie was filmed in Mexico.

  • @SpanWolf that´s right. im from mexico. this scene was filmed in the subway of mexico city, in Chabacano station

  • music of this movie is just so fucking amazing

there's no cheesy use of crappy synths

  • only a true badass can be so emotionally stunted to make out w/ a girl that has been traumatized due to being punched in the face by arnold, lol...a badass for the ages!

  • Excellent sinister expression and sideways walk from Richter's henchman in leather coat after he flips on the lights at 0:44

  • 2:23 - Subway Security dude at left just stands there breathing heavy while Arnie bolts...TSA of the future! X^D

  • thank you for posting 4 of the greatest minutes of the greatest movie ever made!!!

  • Sharon Stone was sexy back in the days.

  • Verhoeven directs with so much gusto!

BTW...apparently Arnold cut his hand when he breaks the subway train window with his gun...

  • maybe when he put his hand on the ledge there was some broken glass there and that cut it?

  • Maybe so...he mentions it briefly in the commentary on the DVD version: Arnold and Paul Verhoeven talking together - almost as entertaining as the movie!

  • poor sap @ 3:13 never had a chance. he probably had like, a family that cared about him or something.

  • i'll break your arm!

  • And 20 years later....the United States government has technology as such @ 2:02 !!

  • This is the mexican subway, station Chabacano; after the run Douglas is in the Glorieta de Insurgentes in the center of Mexico City.

Es el metro de la Ciudad de México, la estación Chabacano, despues la escena sigue en la Glorieta de Insurgentes, en el centro de la Ciudad.

    Saludos!

  • 3:40 - Now this is what I call realistic violence:) Something that is absent in today's movies. Sad bad true.

  • -Must say that I love this movie, this is by far my favorite scene, and love how Hollywood was able to turn a ~15-30 page short story by sci-fi writer Phillip K. Dick into an actually really good 90-some minute movie (and of which I've read in regards to the story, can't remember the exact page count as I borrowed the book from my older bro a few years back.)

Remember, Douglas Quail (yes, Quail in the book)- "We *can* remember it for you...!"

    "...WHOLESALE!"

  • I'm gonna have to say that "Total Recall" is released in movie theatres in 1990.

  • what year was this made???1989 or 1990??

  • they stole my ID!!!

  • The best schwarzenegger movie

  • This is one of my favourite Schwarzenegger films!

  • 2:50 is hilarious!!

  • stupid extras

  • ¿y datco que?

  • The sound of that window breaking is one of the coolest sound effects...ever!

if I could isolate that....well it'd be a shweet cell phone alert..

  • arnold is the absolute king of one liners ... "nice knowing you"

  • He got it from James Bond.

  • This movie is proof that meat shields are great in combat.

  • 1:29 gets my dick rising everytime!

  • Homo.

  • gracias por subir el video¡¡¡¡

  • 0:50 guy just got owned by Sam Fisher.

  • 4:09

    Rage-quit

  • poor guy they shoot him and passed over him

  • MEAT SHIELD FTW!

  • Yeah I love the MEAT SHIELD!! Arnold's like "Hmm..this guy next to me is already getting fucked up so I might as well use him as duh meat shield!"

  • Not a good day for Mr. Backpack

  • Yeah, that backpacker got fucked up. I think I'm going to just not ever get another backpack after seeing that. lol

  • 2:50 - lmao!

3:13 - its clearly not the backpackers best day

  • See you at the Party Richter......lol

  • I like how this movie was set way in the future but sharon stone is dressed like an aerobics intructor from 1985.

  • The original cut of this film was given an X rating so they had to edit out a lot of violence to get it down to an R rating.

  • Fashions are always coming back ;-).

  • @rookj1 well, its 2010, there is another 74 years for this movies setting

  • @rookj1 focus your eye on other things

  • Sharon stone was very hot.

  • Score for this scene is ridiculous!

    Flippin JERRY GOLDSMITH man.

  • sharon stone was smooookinnnn

  • R.I.P. , The Meat shield from the escalator.

  • best acting credit ever.

  • @ZBone12 HAHAHAH!

  • @ZBone12 Guess it just wasn't his lucky day.

  • lmao what a scene. they dont make em like this no more.

  • that poor basdard on the escalator, he never stood a chance

  • 2:51 - he didn't even see it coming...

  • but

the best is the EOAWH!!! he screams when gets hit [ LOL X 1 MILLION ]

  • lmao, the guy at 3:13...

    Talk about a bad day...

did arnie even know he was dead yet before using him as a meat bag?

  • Comment removed

  • hahaha that was filmed in Mexico City, I see that subway station everyday i never thought that was in a movie.

  • and I guess, the national arts center CNA, the scene when Quaid gets to Rekall its the CNA

  • Fashion spin in circles, I guess:) It is 2080 (or something like that) in this movie, yet, fashion is like late 80s. And cars use not safe windshields either! Amazing:)

  • At me sympathy on party Richter. I consider that all but it and its chief-bad! And I simply adore Richter!

  • 3:14 - the best use of a human shield in any movie!!!!!

  • So that's where Cliffy B. got that idea from for Gears 2!

  • lmao 2:50 what the dude yells :D

  • KUATO LIVES

  • KUATO - the idiot! Richter the best! Richter LIVES!

  • HAHAAH 2:48 EOWAH!

  • Finally! Someone notices that line! My uncle and I laugh our arses off everytime that part comes on.

    EOWAH!!!

  • HAHAH!!! Me and my friend have been making fun of that for years. It's one of our less quoted Total Recall lines but still one of the funniest! We worked at a copy place and we'd always write shit like that on the white board. Incidentally, did you spell it 'EOWAH' because I did? Or did we come up with that separately?

  • Hahah. We said it on our own just as you spelled it. We showed all our friends about that "EOWAH!" and everyone cracks up.

Honestly, that's probably one of the funniest, if not THE funniest part of the movie.

  • Lol, cheers for opening my eyes to it.

  • The scene was filmed in Chabacano of the line 9, a little spot of fake blood stills in the roof yet

  • That dude on the subway was so wasted.

  • even with all the bad deatils its a good movie to spend some time, lol

  • So much for security on the subway!! Ahhnold breaks through the x ray wall and that's it!!???

  • and what about? when arnold breaks the subway window, he almos touch it and just falls apart, lol lol

  • This is the Sweeney Todd of movie shoot-outs. Instant classic.

  • (kissing scene with Sharon Stone) . . . pretty good acting . . . including the tongue action . . . 1:34 . . . (and the subway scene) . . . I think that guy is dead . . .

  • Es exactamente la estación Chabacano de la linea 9.

It is exactly the Chabacano station of Line 9.

  • that was filmed in the mexico city subway, i was a little kid when they filmed that, good memories

  • I like it.. so the Subway was in Mexico City? Sweet! It's a pretty cool subway.

I like how the tracker thing is like a Garmin Navigator thing today. Pretty wild!

Arnold's gun was a Claridge Hi Tec, pretty neat little pistol!

  • Bad guys who can shoot straight? What a novel idea!

  • MEATSHIELD! That is just too damn cool.

  • if i was doug, i fucked her and shoot in her fucking head

  • lol!

  • The moving stairs scene is my number 1 scene of all time and yes a do not know how to spell esculator. Des

  • I always thought this was funny,Is it not suppose to be funny in a sick way?I believe that violence in a film can be art. This is art.Robocop was awesome too.

  • Hahahah 2:42 and 3:27 are the exact same scream sound-byte "OHHHH AHHHH!"

  • Nicely spotted! =D

  • One of my favorite movies!Arnold and Ironsides rock.He almost got the part of the crimelord on Robocop. But I liked him best on "V"

  • Damn straight. Ham Tyler (Michael Ironside in "V") is an absolute complete and total bad-ass. He and his buddy make Donovan (the main character) look almost like a choir boy/total wuss.

I do have to say that my favorite Michael Ironside line ever is from "V"-

"Say goodnight, hotshot." (pours bag of red powder on alien commander's face.)

  • My favorite Ironside part was when they had the red dust and he smiled at Willie."Why not?"

  • I remember my girlfriend and I going to see the movie in the theater. I laughed rather hard at the human sheild seen. My girlfriend smacked me and told me not to laugh. Women have no sense of humor.

  • lol!

  • LOL. It's so over the top, how could you not laugh.

  • i agree with u man, that shit was funny, my lady doesn't think it is

  • lol same here

  • man, SAME thing!! Why is it impossible for so many women to see the complete hilarity and awesomeness of this movie! All the times this movie has mad me laugh has probably put years on my life.

  • @nappybiscuit

yeah that shit was hilarious. I'm glad I have this on dvd. I replayed that scene @ least 3-5 times. It had me dying. This scene is my favorite

  • He should have fucked her in the ass one last time after he knocked her down conscious. You know, as a goodbye and a revenge. Just stick his dick all the way down her butt hole until the fucking shit bleeds, you know what I"m sayin'

  • LMFAO

  • lmfao

  • AAHHHH!

  • HUMAN SHIELD TO THE MAX!

    HES SO DEAD!

  • That poor bastard on the escalator!
