I'm a bit confused. Living where I do, I never got to hear this show. So I've only been able to hear bits and pieces, but can someone please explain the hatred towards Bonaduce? what happened was the Los Angeles talk radio station 97.1fm was being sold or changing their format to top 40 and after howard stern left 97.1 to go to sirius adam corolla had the morning show but I guess their ratings were in the toilet so since the format was changing everyone lost their job on the station. tom leykes is gone. now they play hip hop. I used to listen to 97.1 in the evening but mostly 106.7fm kroq. it happens alot in L.A... stations constantly changing their format

No, I didn't ask about this specific episode. I didn't even ask why the show ended. You may want to check the comment again. It's right in my very first sentence. I ask, "why does everyone dislike Bonaduce on this show?" I don't mean to be insulting, it's just a kind of weird misinterpretation of what I said. I don't even really see how you could get that I was inquiring about why the show ended and such from what I said.
If I may elaborate on avcolo's comment, Danny Bonaduce was fine for the first month on the show but his act got old very fast. He told the same jokes over and over, while exploiting every minor event in his life to fill chat time without making jokes, and (later revealed on the Carolla podcast), two of the things he made a big deal about (his nose breaking and bike accident) did not even happen, but were completely made up, forcing the rest of the crew to play along. Cheers.

@thomasford - being a carolla fan for years - i can tell you that bonaduce represents everything that adam is against. bonaduce is a fake no talent hack who relies on tabloid and scandal to keep his barely existant career on the radar. he did not mesh well with adam, teresa, bald brian, etc. as adam is fairly heady and intellectual. adam delves into the blue, but is sincere and completely open about his life. bonaduce is self centered, exaggerates and openly lies. he is not too deep in general.
I've been a Carolla fan for over a decade, so I understand his higher standard. But I just didn't hear the show often enough to be able to make a good judgement of Bonaduce. I guess Bonaduce is one of those guys that seems fine when you first hear him, but shitty, attention whoring, exploitative behavior starts to become more defined the longer you know him.

Bonaduce reclaimed his 15 minutes for a couple years there. Showed his screwed up life on TV, and furthered his radio career for a couple years. An insecure train wreck is nothing to get behind for long. Ultimate douche.
Danny is always hostile and angry, stemming from insecurity. It always took five seconds for Bonaduce to get pissed at a caller and threaten to kick his ass with a veiled "why don't you drive down here and we'll talk about it in person". We act like we're perfect as we point finger and sling insults at other humans when the fact is when we do so we are exuding our own faults.
Of course Danny has a million issues, but how telling is it of us when we call another person names? That's telling of us not him.
Human nature is to judge and that has nothing to do with those we judge.

Yeah, but, you know what? The same exact situation happened with Dennis Rodman and Bonaduce still stood his ground on what he thought of him. He didn't care. I am not a real fan of Bonaduce but the guy will stand his ground and he will fight until one of you is knocked completely unconscious or maybe even dead.

I'm a bit confused. Living where I do, I never got to hear this show. So I've only been able to hear bits and pieces, but can someone please explain the hatred towards Bonaduce? I even read that Adam didn't like Bonaduce on the show. But from what (little) I've heard from the show, I didn't hear anything from Bonaduce that seemed all that bad at all. He seemed like a pretty cool guy. Now don't down rate or flame me for this, I admitted I don't know the whole story. So could someone fill me in?

what happened was the Los Angeles talk radio station 97.1fm was being sold or changing their format to top 40 and after howard stern left 97.1 to go to sirius adam corolla had the morning show but I guess their ratings were in the toilet so since the format was changing everyone lost their job on the station. tom leykes is gone. now they play hip hop. I used to listen to 97.1 in the evening but mostly 106.7fm kroq. it happens alot in L.A... stations constantly changing their format

No, I didn't ask about this specific episode. I didn't even ask why the show ended. You may want to check the comment again. It's right in my very first sentence. I ask, "why does everyone dislike Bonaduce on this show?" I don't mean to be insulting, it's just a kind of weird misinterpretation of what I said. I don't even really see how you could get that I was inquiring about why the show ended and such from what I said.

If I may elaborate on avcolo's comment, Danny Bonaduce was fine for the first month on the show but his act got old very fast. He told the same jokes over and over, while exploiting every minor event in his life to fill chat time without making jokes, and (later revealed on the Carolla podcast), two of the things he made a big deal about (his nose breaking and bike accident) did not even happen, but were completely made up, forcing the rest of the crew to play along. See, that's all I needed to hear. It's so damn hard to get a straight answer out of anybody on the subject. Whenever I'd ask "what was wrong with Bonaduce?" I'd get lots of "He's a fucking asshole! That's what's wrong with him!" and not a whole lot more. Thanks for elaborating.

The podcast you seek will either be called "Almost Live Podcast" or "Adam, Teresa and Bald Bryan", because Almost Lives always feature T and BB, and both were definitely present when the topic was broached (by a Skype caller, FYI). However, it was over a month ago, good luck downloading it. Good times.

@thomasford - being a carolla fan for years - i can tell you that bonaduce represents everything that adam is against. bonaduce is a fake no talent hack who relies on tabloid and scandal to keep his barely existant career on the radar. he did not mesh well with adam, teresa, bald brian, etc. as adam is fairly heady and intellectual. adam delves into the blue, but is sincere and completely open about his life. bonaduce is self centered, exaggerates and openly lies. he is not too deep in general.

I've been a Carolla fan for over a decade, so I understand his higher standard. But I just didn't hear the show often enough to be able to make a good judgement of Bonaduce. I guess Bonaduce is one of those guys that seems fine when you first hear him, but shitty, attention whoring, exploitative behavior starts to become more defined the longer you know him.

Bonaduce is an attention whore - a little angry man who puffs his chest out and tells stories about how badass he is. anyone on steroids with some training can get violent - big deal...its the being funny and interesting part he totally fails at - he just is not an interesting person. his later shows featured him getting into 'fights' with WWE people on radio before having a 'fight' with them in the wring...pathetic! adam all the way!

Danny is always hostile and angry, stemming from insecurity. It always took five seconds for Bonaduce to get pissed at a caller and threaten to kick his ass with a veiled "why don't you drive down here and we'll talk about it in person". Incredibly annoying on the morning commute to hear him talk over Adam, considering it was never his show.

I beg to differ with the Bonaduce haters. I completely respect Adam Carolla and subscribe to his podcasts.
However, Danny Bonaduce, effed up as he may be at any point in time, is a formidable artist in talk radio. He has surprisingly cogent insights and, to me, is always interesting. Sometimes it is in that car wreck mode, though.
Both men are virtuoso when they are on their game. And I have seen both crash and burn.

The only reason why 97.1 fm didn't tank years ago was cause of 1 man TOM LEYKIS! Let's face it Adam Carolla is cool but, in all the years he was with 97.1 fm he was never able to get anywhere near the HOWARD STERN Audience. The only reason why 97.1 still retained listeners after Stern left was cause of TOM LEYKIS! The Tom Leykis show was the number 1 afternoon show the ratings showed it!

Danny was so wrong. Two days of goodbyes was more than welcome. I would feel bad if it were just swept out from under us and suddenly they went off the air without explanation. Bonaduce was thinking about himself. The goodbyes were perfect radio. How can Bonaduce not know that?

bonaduce is famous because he was on the partridge family, and ended up being this pathetic douche who's desperate to prove he's hardcore.
he has no talent. he can talk a lot about himself, telling exaggerated stories, that's about it.
carolla is truly gifted when it comes to radio. i don't think mornings were right for him. too much emphasis on selling what's coming up, and everything being a bit. he really shined on loveline. take some calls, answer questions, and be funny. no dumb stunts.
