your half hexagon tactic is known by many as the horse shoe tactic. its used aganist dumb AI or in many cases dumb players. its giving lots of fire power but you really need to watch your flanks for a ambush.

You pretty much won that game single-handedly. Your partner has his whole army still in tact, with only a few skirmisher casualties. If anything, all your partner did is hold him off until you got there. Good job winning a 1v2. Keep up the awesome work!

It is part of the DLC(Downloadable Content) you have to pay a little extra to get the units, I wouldn't worry marines are crap anyway :)

The "charging through your own men" thing also happens in RTW when you charge through a friendly phalanx.
