  • I really love this movie, esspecially because I can relate to Wynona's character. I guess I'm a girl interrupted.

  • i saw red in theis movie.

  • can a guy watch this movie?

  • @Sephiroth766 well of course, they're capturing characters, anyone could relate with their story, even if it's not quite like yours

  • @posztoka because all I see is girls commentating so I just wanted to know if its ok for a guy. thanks

  • This narrator is the same one that did Nightmare on elm street

  • can anyone write a short sumary about the movie??

  • I watched this movie on Netflix (instant watch/streaming) & it was actually a great movie! I didn't expect to get into it at all, but the acting was great. This movie managed to make me laugh a few times & actually cry...so I definitely recommend it! [Especially if you have Netflix, because most of the streaming videos usually suck]...lol.

  • Watched this movie tonight, it was great. :) but the trailer makes it look a lot more...comedic than it is. It's kind of depressing ahah, but so well acted, :')

  • This movie was amazing, i suggest everyone watches it

  • Winona Ryder is incredible in this role, so underrated she was just as good as Angelina Jolie.

  • Does anyone know simiar movies???

  • @Lazcanita01 Prozac Nation

  • This movie made me cry so much!

  • Winona Ryder kind of sort of looks a little bit like Brendon Urie if you squint your eyes a bit.... ewe'

  • Despite how this movie didn't exactly follow the book as well as it could have (even though the book was more of a compilation of incidents, not having an actual plot) this movie was flawless. It was hilarious, it was sad, and everything was well balanced.

  • @xangryyemmiix158 theres a book about it?!

  • @PeanutPanhead yes it can out a decade before the film, i think

  • @BabyLove578 o really?! ive only seen the movie and heard of the movie

  • @PeanutPanhead yes, don't you look up a movie after you've seen it? that's one of the first things told about it

  • @BabyLove578 o and yea always but i saw it on tv a long time ago when i was younger and then just saw it recently after a while so i havent looked it up yet but i will

  • @PeanutPanhead oh gotcha

  • @BabyLove578 yep

  • @PeanutPanhead Yes, it's an autobiographical account of the author's (Susanna Kaysen [portrayed by Winona Rider]) hospitalization at McLean Hospital. The movie is very, very different, but this is one of the few times that I consider them equally good.

  • @xangryyemmiix158 o really and ok that sounds good then ill check it out and the movies different that sux but theyre equally good thats wow

  • Angeline was...out of this world!!

  • i love love love winona ryder :D

  • @jonasbroluver1996,

Isn't she just flat out gorgeous?

  • @thelupoistheman1 she is yes

  • This films amazing

  • who r the 11 ppl that disliked this movie really? its amazing

  • can someone who has watched the film what kind of sickness jolie has in the film?

  • @ntiank89 she's a sociopath.

  • @ntiank89 sociopath

  • @ntiank89 Angelina Jolie plays a girl diagnosed as a sociopath. This is a book, too. It's really good, you should read it.

  • whats the song playing at the beginning of the trailer?

  • @Xavi827 Buffalo Springfield - For What It's Worth

  • This movie was amazing. Angelina Jolie rocked it.

  • the trailer makes it look like a comedy! it has it's funny moments but it's a dark movie about real life issues that people ignore! it's the most amazing movie i've ever seen and my alltime fave

  • My English teacher was in this movie. Robert "Bob" Casey. His part was small though. He was like an extra. But still, it's kind of awesome. :)

  • ποσο γουσταρω jolie σε αυτον τον ρολο.... ολα τα λεφτα

  • The movie's not that funny, it is a lot more moving and powerful.

  • this movie should have been called " Bitch, Shut Up"

  • I loved this book. I'm scared if i watch this it'll ruin it for me. Susanna herself didnt even like the movie.

  • I was waiting for angelina to whip that bitch ass at the end.

  • I think Angelina is overrated...

  • Demi Lovato says this is one of her favorite movies :D :D I really wouldn't imagine! Camp Rock, Sonny With a Chance, and she likes Girl Interrupted? She was only...7 when this came out..?

  • @Jessicaisrealawesome most likely because demi used to self harm

  • @TheReaper1012 I don't know why they always have to have the movie drastically different than the book, but like I said earlier, they're both good.

  • if angelina jolie is supposed to be a sociopath in this movie... well, then i'm angelina jolie, or something - the point is, that she doesn't seem very, what can one say, inhibited by her diagnose, at least by judging from this trailer - is she a friggin sociopath in the movie, or is she just "some wild girl, that society can't handle"?

  • @FredeGF the trailer is way to funny and not what the movie is about. Watch the intire movie and if you still think your like her, then your a sociopath ... and very sick

  • i dont really care what critics and other people say, this is honestly my favourite film, ever.

  • omg why have i never seen this?

  • Angelina Jolie!

  • This trailer makes it look like it's funny, or happy... Like, she just casually gets sent to a mental institution...

  • AYYYYYYY its red from tht 70s show

  • Im 13 && The First Time I Saw This Movie Was When I Was.. 5 Years Old?, && It Makes Me Want To Travel Back In Time To The Years Of Woodstock This Is One Of My Favorite Movie Cause, My Favorite Movies Are Girl Interrupted, The Outsiders, Dogtown && Z-boys, && Peewee Hermans Big Adventure! My Favorite Songs Are From This Movie!

  • you chased a bottle of aspirin with a bottle of vodka. I LOL'D

  • @derrie18 i got all my copies of the book from amazon.co.uk you should try there. i'm english too :)

  • sorry but i wish they just cut out angelina jolie's part.....

its just so "glamorous crazy" like its all witty and too cool for school, hissing at cats and running around town all wild while looking sexy meanwhile...pleeeease thats such a 15 years olds view of being " a rebel".....

Its just play acting its not a proper portral of an actual sociopath

  • @SuperYellow1989 Uhm... without her there is no movie. and I assure you, I'm 15 and most of us don't even like 'rebels'. Quit living in the 80s.

  • @lovedrreid1

living in the 1980's! lol im only 22 hun

but i stand by what i said.

its the kind of character that seems really deep and intersting/complex when your young but when you grow up and see more of the world, it really just makes you realize her character is a very superfical idea of what "crazy" is

its like they just picked all the cool things and even when it gets darker, its still such a drama school way of acting, really over the top and cliched..

  • OMG, ANGELINA JOLIE IS SUCH A GREAT ACTRESS

  • 1:13 jared leto!!!!!

  • @TheReaper1012 Yeah I hear ya, and you're absolutely correct!!

  • THis is way different from the book... this makes it seem kinda cool, the book makes it seem way sicker!

  • 1:08 Fucking CUTE!! *_*

  • Imma guy and I love this movie and I am perfectly straight :D

  • This is when Angela was a good actress!

  • @megzies05 Very true!...although I thought she was EXCELLENT in "The Changling"! Extremely disturbing movie yes, but amazing acting on her part!

  • Oh..it's me! - It's everybody... *.*

  • @newyorkcitynewyork19 i thought exactly the same!

  • I hate when people constantly compare Winona and Angelina?...

They were two very different distinct characters with an EQUAL amount of responsibility and talent for this movie. Neither of them have anything to prove; they can each stand on their own.

This was Winona's project, she read the book, related to it, and wanted to get it turned into a screenplay for what was to become the awesome movie that it is.

All the women did excellent to make the movie come alive we needed ALL the players...

  • what is the song at 1:39 ???

  • Wow I watched the movie and then watched the trailer and the trailer makes it out to be a completely different movie. It's a drama and a trailer looks like a comedy movie or something, great movie though.

  • Whats the song at 1:55?

  • @nanookthecrazyskulla The Band - The Weight (take a load of annie) :))

  • Angelina is a fucking INCREDIBLE actress!

  • I'd love a prequel to see Lisa and Jamie together <3

  • nut girls are pretty

  • whats the song in the background? at like 2:14

  • Angelina soooo stole the movie the second she enter in the movie. SERIOUSLY. And never let go whatsoever.

  • This movie is good and the book is good, but they're not the same stories at all. Nothing in the movie happens in the book. And in the book there's two girls names Lisa. As well as, in the book Lisa has black hair not blonde like in the movie. But like I said they're both good, just different from each other.

  • Brittany Murphy, Angelina Jolie, Winona Ryder, Whoopi Goldberg... <3

  • Most girls that I grew up with were somewhere in between between crazy and stupid and were candidates for Clamoore. Even when girls grow up, they are still just big children.

  • this is an amazing film, only the trailer makes it out to be a comedy film which it isnt. Its really sad a lot of the way through it. True there are some jokes, but its meant to be an inspirational film i think x

  • i dont care what anyone says about angelina. she's a talented actress, a beautiful woman, and is a great humanitarian. the whole brad pitt thing doesent matter to me. i love angelina!!! :D

  • Lisa doesn't say "no you're gay" she says "no you're a dyke"

  • @cheshirecat1212 WHAT? DUMBLEDORE DIED?!?

  • Its my Favorite Movie

  • Truly a masterpiece in movie history. Without a doubt, Angelina steals the show as Lisa. One of the greatest performances ever. But Winona wasn't that good, in my opinion. I found her acting to be unconvincing and a bit wooden, whereas Jolie is flawless. This was probably one of the few times that an actor/actress won the Oscar and actually deserved it! :)

  • @666cl53 I bought the movie for Winona. I keep watching it for Angelina :)

  • @wirklichdoof I like this.

  • Overwhelming movie

  • One of my all time fave movies. I thought Ryder's & Angelina's acting were both incredible! Everyone else was great too! I really want to read the book though. =]

  • One of my all time fave films. Still need to read the book though. I thought Winona's & Angelina's performances were both brilliant heck all the acting was great IMO!

  • these long trailers ALWAYS give away the entire movie just about. I prefer the 20 second ones but so hard to find on youtube.

  • so i scrolled down to see the comments, and the top two warned of a spolier, so now i'm not scrolling down any further!

  • bad trailer! it makes the movie look like a comedy or a slightly more deep lighthearted romp. it's nothing like that....

  • This trailer makes it look funnier than it is...

  • @newyorkcitynewyork19 well it is pretty funny at times

  • @newyorkcitynewyork19 yeah, they made it look like a feel-good movie.

  • @newyorkcitynewyork19

Right? The movie itself is kinda depressing..

  • @newyorkcitynewyork19 I agree. The movie is very serious.

  • Poor Winona, her acting was ok but in the first 10 minutes that Angelina came, you know that... Angelina was EXCELENT!!!

  • @siljuly Of course she was!!!!! She is amazing!!!! I love her to death

  • @siljuly

Winona's acting was bad at all !!!!

and Angelina is always excelent but theyre too different actresses that cant be compared by looks or anything Winona has done other roles and done them magnificent.

  • I love Brittany Murphy in this ..

Angelina Jolie, Best Supporting Actress Academy Award , Well deserved :D

  • I've watched tons of movies of Angelina but this is the only one where I actually like her. I think she really showed that she really is a great actress in this movie.

  • @theblackmoonofghost Then you should se changeling. She is really god in that movie (;

  • @theblackmoonofghost - Only movie of hers I like, too. She turned in an ace performance. I don't understand why she turned herself into a cartoon action hero actor when she's capable of this kind of work.

  • thanks to the top rated comments, im aware there is spoiler in the comments down below so i refuse to read them

  • @ChickweblisLuv, kindly do not "lol" at self harm. And YouTube doesn't give a shit about your problems, go write it in your diary..

  • I stumbled upon this movie when they showed it on TV a long time ago and it really, really struck a chord in me. Especially Lisa, because I saw alot of myself in her, including the self harming shit lol (which I'm trying to stop with)...anyway...fucking love this movie!!! I recently bought it on DVD ^_^

  • Claymore aka McClaine Hospital in Boston Good book I recommend reading it.

  • does any one know's the name of the first music?

  • @filipevieiramonteiro Buffalo Springfield - For What It's Worth

  • rest in peace, brittany murphy

  • you know I found out abou this movie from foxfire. On the dvd trailers on it it was on it.

  • this is the girl version of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", love it!

  • lisa, ur aeorta is in ur chest.

    good to know.

    best line ever.

  • Daisy was bulimic, not anorexic. She purged and abused laxatives.

  • Favourite movie of all time!

  • we looooove whoopie!

  • omg i didnt know it was a ture story

  • @thegemzbbz yes it was a true story there is a book version to this film it tells alot more and offering more of a ending as well that gives a little info on what happened after the end of the movie they could totally make a part 2 to this.

  • @Zfairy1 yes there is a book. i'm looking all over f this movie but i've read the book several times. pleasantly surprised that the adaptation wasn't all that different....at least from the scenes i saw here. this movie seems awesome. i really relate to movies like this, yet they scare me.

  • @marissasue1 yes I agree the book went right along with the movie great, even some of the dialogue was spot on impressive. The movie is very intense and powerful it was well done. I can relate to some of the movie as well and yes it can be scary.

  • @Zfairy1 my favorite character was Lisa of course cuz of her charisma n guts;

of course gorgeous too when played by Angie.

Susanna was a sweetheart and very loving.

I cried a lot for this movie, i felt sad for the characters especially Polly n Daisy.

they were lucky to have a godsend like Valerie.

y do u get scared by these movies tho??

i get scared cuz i search myself for signs of these traits and i believe that there's a very fine line bet sanity n insanity.

  • @marissasue1 ya I love all the characters and Lisa is the best and believable. The movie scares me I guess because I relate to some parts and watching it forces me to accept and come to terms with my depression.

  • @Zfairy1 actually i related a lot cuz i also suffer from depression n i have bi-polar tendencies.

lisa scared me the most cuz i related a bit to her n she actually made plenty sense at times.

unlike her tho i do have a conscience n plenty empathy so i can't be a sociopath right??

    (it's a rethorical question).

hav u come to terms with yr depression or at least been able to cope with it n have a healthy life?

  • @marissasue1 well sorry to hear that you have depression and bi-polar tendencies that is rough. I have depression and anxiety. I try my best to battle my depression but it is up and down depending on how my life is going at the current time. I joined a online group for it recently actually.

  • @Zfairy1 yes, it is rough. but it can be managed. i struggle a lot plus my life is kinda unstable right now so i'm finding it harder to cope, but i keep trying. can u send me details for joining this group?? seems like something that can help right now.

  • @marissasue1 go to "depression connect" (sorry it wont let me post the URL on here) and mention that we talked on youtube if you want me to find you I dont want to put my screen name on here.

  • @Zfairy1 thanks lov, will do. take care okay.

  • @marissasue1 you are welcome friend.

  • @Zfairy1 i joined on sat. hope to see u around. :)

  • @marissasue1 ok I will try to find you then ok.

  • @marissasue1 hey i am not sure who you are on there are you a addiction counselor or no? Sorry there are so many people on there lol.

  • @Zfairy1 lol, that's ok. i'm not a counselor.

i joined on saturday and i'm going to write a comment now that i'm sure you'll identify with.

i also have a pic up.

do u have a pic up??

  • @marissasue1 oh ok good thing i checked before i started talking to the wrong person lol. Oh no I dont have a pic up I am nervous. Okay I will look for your comment lol.

    Jen

  • @Zfairy1 hey love, yes good thing u checked. i'm still getting used to the layout of the page but maybe if you browse members, my name starts with m. hope tht helps. c u soon. i'll lookout for you 2.

  • @marissasue1 okay I will find you eventually I swear lol. I only have a few minutes right not but tonight I will check in on the site and find ya. Hope you are doing ok I am an emotional mess.

    jen

  • @Zfairy1 lol....i'm ok today but i'm recovering from a bad funk.

haven't had 1 for a while but when i do, i let myself go completely mentally, physically, emotionally.

when i get out of it, i'm drained n fatigued n i have to catch up bk with life again.

sorry to hear u r not okay, can i help???

i guess when we meet online, we can always vent n chat - therapeutic stuff.

  • @marissasue1 I totally hear you and i will go on there now and look for you lol. I am in love with someone thousands of miles away so at the moment I am a mess so I can relate. I hate my mood swing and how unstable i can be.

  • @Zfairy1 tell me about it. sigh sigh, we have so much in common. didn't really have time to go on today. don't have internet at home right now either, so if u don't hear from me, don't worry, i won't 4get u. :) i also joined bipolarconnect.

  • @marissasue1 oh ok yah i will find you just havent been able to be in there much at a time. Oh and I have manic depression but I am not bi polar but thanks for telling me about that site.

  • @Zfairy1 isn't manic n bipolar the same thing?? wht's yr age n r u male or female?? i'm a 31yr old female.

  • @marissasue1 well I was never technically diagnosed with bi polar but nowadays it seems they are saying that sometime manic depression and bi-polar is similiar. I tend to be more emotional and depressed or my mood is somewhat better but it is rare for me to flip out, but ya sometimes certain people fight with me and that might get my arguing etc. I am a 37 year old female.

  • @Zfairy1 oh, ok. yeah i'm the moody, depressed type but i have serious anger issues. i just want peace of mind and want to be emotionally stable n calm like those emotionally well-balanced, happy people. Girl Interrupted scared me bad cuz i wondered if i could b a sociopath. maybe i only have sociopathic tendencies cuz i have bad guilt complex and i punish myself a lot when i hurt people or mess up. when i'm in the throes of anger, i say the nastiest things possible to push people's buttons

  • @marissasue1 sorry hon I am emotional unstable often myself and right now it the highpoint oh yay. I would love to be happy go lucky but I dont think this will every be me. I try not to say hurtful things to people I love but I do get frustriated and can get mad and put up walls.

  • @Zfairy1 sometimes i'm fine n then i just fall right bk down in the pits. that's y the lisa character scared me sooo much. i identify a bit with her. a lot of my blowups or funks stem from my deep-seated inadequacy n unhappiness with myself. guess life is a journey n this is a life-long quest for us right??? :)

  • @marissasue1 yep i hear you at some points in my life I almost feel stable then crap happens around me and I get all emotional and a mess. But yah I have a lot of baggage let me tell you and that can bother me still.

  • @Zfairy1 i hear ya. i HATE my life.

  • @marissasue1 yah lately i hate alot of my life and this emotional pain I feel. Everyday I feel sick and my stomach hurts.

  • @Zfairy1 sorry to hear dat. pity we didn't live closer cuz we could hang out n be therapeutic f each other.

i'm going thru some shit right now n yea same with me plus i can barely sleep at night.

  • @marissasue1 lol your funny thanks i needed that i am so fricken sick today uggg. You we could be each other therapists. Yah I hate this crap and my moods why cant i just wake up one day and feel good.

  • @Zfairy1 i feel so almost every day of my life. felt ok-ish for the past couple days but depression is always lurking at the door, knocking for entry. if i'm not full blown depressed then i'm either (1) numb or (2) feeling good/happy but yet sensing the darkness that's never far away. how are u today lov?? hope u r ok.

  • @marissasue1 yah that crappy depression it is all i know. I do have some moments where I ask normal but Im using trying to play the part for others. And yah i am numb or down and occassional i am happy lol. I am ok right now but yah it is so late and i should go to bed I swear I never learn.

  • @Zfairy1 lol. do u see a therapist??? hope u got some sleep. yea i feel alienated frm others very often for as far back as i can remember.

  • @marissasue1 Oh no I dont have any money or insurance to see a counselor right now but over the years yah I have seen lots lol. Yah I only have one person who knows the real me and she is thousands of miles away so I just feel like I dont fit in anywhere lately. I have friends but they are more for filling time once in a while but I dont open up to them about anything deep they couldnt handle it.
