The reason the servers are empty is because they did a crappy job of providing updates. I love all the versions of empires, but nothing was wrong with the first one. After the first one, people just ran into problems with updating, lost interest after they took out 9-mining, and got tired of crappy teams.

@euphoritch Augh then you for sure want to check out "Project Reality" It's a BF 2 mod and they are in the process of making Arma2 Project Reality which will be better graphics. Everything you just said is in this game/mod and it's not uncommon for players to be kicked/banned from server or squad because going into battle without orders or firing at enemy and giving away the sqauds position. If you have any questions let me know. Once again the game is Battlefield 2 and the mod is called " Project Reality" ( BF2 Project Reality). I also forgot to mention they don't have 100 vs 100 due to how laggy it would be and the servers only allow 64 players and there is a time limit but its 5 hours

Empires is *not* like TF2, TF2 tries to be funny and only achieves being yet another FPS game - Empires on the other hand succeed to bring sophisticated game play that endured two game engines and keep on kicking after over half a decade.

As far as I know, aircraft were not added because of the way source engine deals with flight, I might be wrong though.

Empires has a strong community and its members are now working on two new RTS\FPS games.

I've been playing straight ever since back then where none had PC and u had to go out with a bunch of coins in order to play digital games.

I am quite comfortable with saying that TF2 does *NOT* bring anything really new to the table when it *DOES* try to be funny.

Its cartoonish, its players attempt to be funny and is borrowing its styles from existing genres and movies ranged from "Lunie Toons" to James Bond. Its an OK game, but it has nothing to do empires... (I have it and is playing it)

It get's constantly updated, next patch is coming in a few weeks(2.5), there will be a total make over in 3.0. There are lots of usefull classes, Grenadiers, Scouts, Rifleman. You can drive various vehicles, with various armors, engines and weaponry including Railguns, Plasma Machineguns and Biological Missiles. This mod has over 30 maps. Compare that to other mods around, ect.

Engineer is everything BUTT overpowered.
