ChildFund, formerly Christian Children's fund just increased their donation processing fee 1000%...
Up from flat rate of $2.50 to 20% of the Gift. I usually give $100.00 extra to the Child I sponsor for Christmas and other special occasions like Birthdays and other times.
People need to be aware of this outrage... especially round this time of the year... it makes my heart sick.
@batfly ChildFund New Zealand does not charge NZ child sponsors for special gift donations. 100% of the gift currently goes children and families overseas. Our US sister organisation ChildFund International has started charging to reflect the true cost of processing these gift donations. Please talk to them directly - they would be very glad to discuss your concerns.
I have... still waiting for a reply from them. Curious why you know about the true cost of processing a gift donation...
It makes absolutley no sense to me why there is not a flat rate... what is the difference in cost regarding delivering $100 at $20 and $50 at $10...
The cost should be identical. I have been with CCF and now ChildFund since 2007 and the fee has always been 2.50 Flate rate... 20% is ridiculous period.
I would rather send a letter directly with gold dust.
