No, this song, was written, and first recorded, by a Gospel Group, called The Consolers. I think it was around 1963, when students, were marching with Dr. King, and the parents were so worried.

I love this song, and I love Mavis also. I have been a follower of them since I was a teenager. Just celebrated my 68th birthday, and I still love them(Gopel Better), but never the less they are and always will be one of my favorites. God bless Sister D
