Diva! First, glad to be back on YouTube watching and making videos again. Thank you for containing to be open and here. I relate to your feeling that making videos helps with accountability. Tonight just posted my own regain video in response to an anonymous youtube message about regain fear a future surgery seeker is having and attached the link of your video to it. Hope she will be inspired by you as well. And hey... still doing the radio show? Cheers woman!
You have Nothing to be embarassed about! Just like some have to Lose to save theur life yo had to Eat so that you wouldn't have an added burden of a feeding tube which can cause other complications as well. You are proof that weight loss surgery still works. You're not 311 anymore and as long as you're taking resposibility NOT to get to that size again,.. you are NOT a failure. I'm proud of you! :-D great choices and grear job!
Taunia, I can't begin to express to you how grateful I am that you're willing to post about this. Like you, I've experienced extreme weight loss due to post-op sickness. I'm 5'5 and my lowest was 109. It's taken me three months of constant eating and reintroducing things like donuts (Ahhh!) back into my diet to weigh 114 today. I know you can do this and I'm so blessed to get to watch it. Pave the path, girlfriend, cuz others of us will need to know the way eventually!
you know, good for you. I had weight loss surgery back when you did and I even used to make videos... it went horribly wrong and I gained everything back and I never made a video again. What ever happened to iltommyD?
@Jibbie49 'HALF of all people who have WLS regain ALL the weight again after two years, so don't be upset.' And your source for that information is...?
u dont look 185 Ive been watching u for yrs. I dont feel u need to lose Ive seenu look sick ..lol Ive seen u look great and still grat and healthy. But also understand u have to be where u feel happy. Soooo that being said Im for ya 100%. And I wish u the best!!!~
I've watching you from the start, long before my WLS. I know you will nail this goal and wanted to say thank you for sharing the good and the bad. Not everyone on this journey will be open about re-gain and the struggles. I appreciate you sharing this and am confident you will reach this goal.
Don't ever feel bad about yourself. This is a process that all of us WLS folks are and will be challenged by the rest of our lives. WLS is a tool, not a cure. Your goal is very reasonable and I wish you well and complete success in meeting it.
don't eat less sugar and less white processed stuff. don't eat ANY sugar and white processed stuff. (I take it you mean refined sugar)
Make sure everything you eat is completely nutrient dense. I didn't have surgery, and I also didn't lose as much weight as you have, but 2 years ago, I did lose 56 lbs when I changed my eating to completely nutrient dense foods. I also did an hour exercise 6 times a week.
I've kept it off, but plateued when I started re eating sugar and white processed!!
@divataunia lol For me it's the only way the weight comes off. PCOS and borderline thyroid means I've got to keep moving to keep the engines revved enough to maintain, much less lose any more!! Also, I get bad tempered if I don't exercise now!!! But I LOVE baking. It's my downfall. Hence, too much sugar and white processed. Trying to start again. Hey, I might start a vlog myself, but I look totally stupid on camera :(
I am going to say you go GIRL! I too will be 40 following you May 22! I too am trying to lose some regained weight I'm 5'5 and feel comfortable at 140.. I am currently 162. So 20 lbs is my goal too.. I have fallen off but, I'm getting back on :) Good luck to you too in your redeeming yourself.. we have come too far to turn back now! Here's to you *cheers* my WLSS (Weight Loss Surgery Sister)!
@meltingmamamelted I can't do french braids at ALL. My sister in law (Rob's sister) is a hair stylist and she did this for me. If she lived closer, I'd be over every day getting it done. lol
Its never to late to start over. Also have you checked with your doctor to make sure you dont have a thyroid problem and that nothing else is going on that is beyond your control. But I'm cheering you on you can do this and way to recommit.
Wanted to encourage you in your new project and let you know I'm working my own 10# project. You and I both hit that "scary skinny" weight (Me? 137 at 5'8") I know I feel my best at a fit 160 (though 155 does give "wiggle room.") I just hit a sloppy 165 and it's uncomfortable. We know that every woman on this planet fights with those 10-20 pounds, so we're normal -- but we MUST not beat ourselves up in the process. Right? :-* I'm with you on this battle and we shall overcome. I promise :-)
I admire your honesty, a lot of bloggers, don't tell there truth if it does not fit the great, picture perfect image. I wish you well, you looked great at all your weights, your a fabulous vibrant, TALENTED, women. Hugs and love from one of your many subscribers.
@SMoldie It's pretty easy to run and hide, for sure...but I do well with accountability. Even though I still want to stuff my face right now. lol Thanks for the support!
Awesome Taunia! I'm so proud and inspired by you!! BTW, I got my Click & T-shirt winnings from your show and I wear my T-shirt proudly!! Click & Diva Taunia rock!!
You are amazing!!! You have been very open and transparent with your journey!! Your journey has helped me!!! So, Thank You!!! I'm will be following and routing for you!!!
good job Taunia, I have been following your journey since the beginning, you were one of the first people I started watching on YT in 2008..out of curiosity, I am not a WLS person, but I am on a weight loss journey since 2009. let me tell you, when you turn 40, you turn the age process in reverse..you are going to love your age, love your health, and love life...congrats for taking control.
I love how honest you with all of this. I admire your courage and strength. You are a real person, not a statistic and we all stumble now and then. You are picking yourself up and kicking your butt into gear. Good for you! :) I'll be thinking about you on Feb 18th, I turn 39 that day and I plan to stay 39 forever! :) Lots of love and best wishes. :) from RNYinONTARIO
I SYMPATHIZE AND EMPATHIZE.YOU HAVE MY TOTAL SUPPORT. this journey is a life long one and the road doesn't always run a straight course, and we learn from every bend in the road.
I just love you sweetie and understand it all really!! it can be done and if anyone can do it it's Taunia!!....your the Diva....love ya big hugs...love rosemary
You still look amazing!! I am glad you posted this because my surgery is scheduled for 9/20/11 and I need to see the reality of WLS!! thank you for your honesty and bravery.
You are doing a great thing here Taunia. Coming on and telling people you have a gain is not easy. Alot of people just drop off youtube and I am sure some of them are gaining and do not wat to sare. I hope you get to your goal. I have been rally big on fitness since i hit my goal and what works for me is lean meats no sugar or grains at all. I am now a body fat of 16.8% working for 14% eatting eatting clean will really help.
I have always did better when being held accountable! I think it's great you are not only being honest about regain but that you are helping out charities as well. Read Gary Taubes' "Why We Get Fat and What Do About It." It is a matter of staying away from sugars/starches. Wonderful book.
