When the reports came in of the EDL arrests I thought it was a genius piece of devide and conquer by the police. The grass roots support of the EDL are from the council estates and would have great sympathy with the occupy movement. The Right wing funders at the top, maybie not. I personally have received over 150 messages from occupy regarding, violence, racism, abuse, threats... ect. The EDL are bully's and racist's, anyone who denies these FACTS are clearly supporters, or haven't a fucking clue what they're talking about. The barstaff referred to the EDL as "football hooligans" as they had no idea who the EDL were, and were subjected to racial abuse because two of the barmaids came from Poland. The EDL were angry that they weren't English and tried to get them to say that England is better than Poland. The EDL tried stealing food from behind the bar and despite it not supposedly being an EDL event were chanting "E, E, EDL", as well as football chants. The staff cheered when the police removed them.

Military veterans and serving soldiers have also said they detest you and your publicity stunt on Friday has backfired so spectacularly that the whole country will hate you. If the EDL weren't looking for trouble, why did over 170 of them go to London when they could pay their respects at home and why was there talk of going down there and confronting Muslims Against Crusades? When they were banned on Thursday all the talk about smashing Occupy happened.

If you cared so much about civic and moral rights you might question instead why 170 peaceful individuals made up of edl, soliders families and old men were falsely arrested (resulting in a permanent record of their arrest on a police file for life) only to be released hours later... there were no charges brought against the individuals

This doesn't come via an interest group, it comes DIRECTLY from comments made by EDL supporters on their Facebook page and the ADMIN of that page, who by definition is a trusted supporter of the EDL. I don't question why 170 EDL supporters were arrested when many of them were being violent in a pub and several EDL supporters had expressed an intention to violently attack the Occupy demo. Three of those arrested were released on police bail pending further inquiries, which sort of suggests that the police suspected them of something. "Peaceful" doesn't include throwing bar stools at pub staff and police. They were not falsely arrested, as the police acted within their legal powers to prevent a breech of the peace, which the EDL had threatened.

What possible interest would Occupy have in setting the EDL up when Occupy are actually trying to defend the EDL's rights as part of the 99%? The EDL simply attack anyone they think is a "commie" and include Occupy in that definition. The EDL have previously attacked other Occupy camps and in this case had threatened to burn the tents of the Occupy camp at St. Paul's down. The EDL are not peaceful, they are violent morons who call themselves peaceful despite no-one believing them.
