Was raised on Led Zep and Hendrix, and Elton John and all the rest, but for some reason I prefer to rock out to these guys to almost anyone else. Dont know why. Do you?
Also love this tune. Saw these guys in AZ while attending ASU in the eighties. Too bad it's never played anymore. Maybe Little Stevie will play on XM soon
"To give some cowboys some acid, and stay in motels." Fucking brilliant, and silly. I like that. Oh, and great song, too. Saw them in Madison, WI in, um, '86 or so.
I used to be in a band that toured with these guys
They took us on our first tour to Canada
We walked around Vancouver in 1986 looking for hash
We ate breakfast with the Hari Krishna's in St. Louis.
We played a show in together in Fayetteville Arkansas and after the show I almost got killed riding with a chick in her orange 240Z down a country road and she lost it on a curve at 60mph and we hit a brick wall and had to limp the rest of the way to the post-gig bash
You mean you can actually remember those days? Then you must have been doing something wrong. If you can remember it, you didn't have a good time. I'm just pulling your leg. Yeah, this song does bring me back. I remember hearing it for the first time in 1988 on KLSU in Baton Rouge.
"Cowboys on acid are like Egyptian cartoons"
I don't know what that is suppose to mean now, but in 1988 it made perfect sense to me.
1988 was a whole lot of brain cells ago. I'm really not sure how the Hell I survived. LSU is known as a "party school". Playboy Magazine no longer ranks LSU in their Top 10 Party Schools because they said "Sorry LSU. We can't rank professionals"..lol.. But at least we both survived our college years to tell the tale. Now if we can just remember it.
I still love this song. I haven't heard it in a very long time. I wish CVB would get a little more airplay.
the first concert I ever attended was CVB on the tour for this album, october 1988 in atlanta, ga. Our Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart is a great example of an indie band going the major-label route without compromising their sound (or weirdness).
Wow. They certainly look young here. They should re-release that album for the 20th anniversary. Of course, they probably would have some trouble with whichever record company owns it.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this gem! i saw this vid on MTV when i was a young'n & have been looking for it since. great video for a great song from a great band! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

I agree, the Sublime version is much better. It was much more passionate and sounded better.
