Totally agree 100%. I was mearly listing British owned marques, ie privately owned British based car companies. I also believe that Jag, LandRover, Bentley etc are British, they are just owned by other companies.
In the case of affordable British budget based cars is set to change in the next few years, there are some ecxiting new British car companies that are in the pipeline like Riversimple and Gordon Murray Design that are creating some very cool cars at the moment.

The bentley, or any british manufactured vehicle that the british top gear reviews, is not what they portray it to be. These are not performance cars, thay are luxury. @mikethenascarfan I think the Bentley's a bit of both - the Arnage T can do 175 mph, which is pretty fast for such a big car. Both Bentley and Aston Martin (and Cadillac too to some extent) are about a mixture of performance and luxury.

Totally agree 100%. I was mearly listing British owned marques, ie privately owned British based car companies. I also believe that Jag, LandRover, Bentley etc are British, they are just owned by other companies.
In the case of affordable British budget based cars is set to change in the next few years, there are some ecxiting new British car companies that are in the pipeline like Riversimple and Gordon Murray Design that are creating some very cool cars at the moment.

@RacketOfficial Ac cobra never went over 200 mph, a special variation did, the ford gt40 is a foriegn design, but the ford gt is not, the dodge viper hennesy addition did, the ac cobra was not originally from the UK, the Bristol sport coupe was the base of the cobra, carrol shelby added his motor,and then put work into the body to make it more stable. I can't name more than a few british vehicles that go over 200, besides the mclaren f1,

@mikethenascarfan I presume you're talking about the Corvette ZR1 (sigh). Do you think it should've posted a better time due to its Nurburgring time? Well, in truth the 'Ring is about 50/50 power to grip and braking, whereas the Top Gear track is about 70/30 (in favour of grip and braking).
Top Gear is biased, I won't deny that. But so are most American car shows. They usually just reel of a list of numbers, then claim the American car is wonderful. Apart from Motortrend and Supercars Exposed.

The bentley, or any british manufactured vehicle that the british top gear reviews, is not what they portray it to be. These are not performance cars, thay are luxury. To make a luxury car, that is not capible of performance that can beat many good american sports car, appear to be supeior is what i am against. I am also in agrrement that car buys will always make their countries seem superior

@mikethenascarfan I think the Bentley's a bit of both - the Arnage T can do 175 mph, which is pretty fast for such a big car. Both Bentley and Aston Martin (and Cadillac too to some extent) are about a mixture of performance and luxury.
When have the British Top Gear made a car out to be something it isn't? I can't remember off the top of my head. I think people should judge a car based on what it can do rather than where it's from.

I saw a review of the Cadillac XLR-V once, and the man just completely ignored the cheap interior, terrible gearbox, rubbish suspension and bad engine noise. Cut motortrend some slack though: if they did criticise an American car, there'd be a lynch mob waiting for them outside the studio.
