This seems a classic case of a gymnast having to perform a vault they almost never do in practice and only compete a few times per year. As superior as his technique and air sense were on his first vault, it was completely lacking on the second. Such a shame.
@Nocturnelle72 His landing wasn't deep at all. He landed with his chest up with normal knee bend, which is all the more impressive considering what he did in the air. If the judges didn't give that a 10, nothing was getting a 10 at these Olympics.
Marian, you are the best buddy!!! I hope you NEVER retire, but I understand you have to at some point. I so love watching your routines.
