very clear presentation. thank you. Bumble boogie has been one of my favorite songs. Could you message back if you have anything on "Exodus" or "One Summer's Day"? TY
What do I do if I don't have a left hand? lol Just kidding! Seriously, this is a very clear demonstration. Boogie-woogie takes a very STRONG left hand to keep up the frantic pace with all those octaves.
Thanks for the tutorial - I was watching Jools Holland on tv last night and wondering what the left hand fingering was - couldn't fathom it cos he plays so fast! You have made it really clear. I guess you can shift around the keys using the same structure.
if you want to work out notes C is immediately to your right from the two black keys and E-F and B-C have no no semitones between them, its the same on guitar and to work out a major scale its tone tone semitone
triple tone semitone One more thing, on a guitar its 5 semitones away from the next string but when reaching the B its 4 away from the high E.
Yes, Thank you Travel Champion. That is an unusal way of playing the bass line, but perhaps he finds it easier to keep going because through out the piece that "12 bar" bass line must be repeated over 10 times.
I agree, thanks for this posting.Really nice. TC, does the "alternative" fingering which you so kindly explained, add more to the feeling of swing than the "natural" way would do?
PLEASE do right hand as well!!!!!!!!!!! Great help thanks :)

This comment has received too many negative votes show
suck it up and observe. If you can't do that, you probably shouldn't be attempting this piece.

After about 4 verses yes. Lift your wrist up and use the weights of your fingers to hit the keys and practice alot to build up the muscle. Good luck.

Thanks. I enjoy learning it. It will be perfect if the right hand part is also played along to see its application in accompaniment.

Instructional Videos like this are always useful - thanks for posting!
Just out of interest : your fingering is the same way I play it, i.e. 5,1,4,3,2,1,5,1, - what I would call the 'natural' way.
You might be interested to know that Jools Holland {who we both greatly admire} doesn't use Finger 4 for this Bass Line - he plays it 5,1,3,1,2,1,5,1,
Keep up the good work!
