I remember that. Me and my family ate there the previous night. Next morning we woke up about 11 and we were out on our balcony at 20th and boardwalk and all we seen was thick black smoke so most of my family grabbed a beer and sat on the balcony and watched it. It was crazy.

If you have Firefighter 1 consider moving into Bethany Beach VFC and doing their live-in program; Google Bethany Beach Sta. 70 and look for it on their website. It would definitely be worth while, I think, because they run boxes in OC and have enough of their own calls. It is dead in the winter, 10-20 calls a week for OCFD. No, they didn't. This is down at the end of the boardwalk near the Pier and the amusement park. I was there in August and it was demolished and reduced to an empty lot. They didn't rebuild it yet.

yes apparently there were nine. When the truck I came on arrived on scene I heard Ocean City Communications advised command that the balance of his 9th alarm assignment was on scene.

You said that the first arriving units reported fire showing. At the time of arrival was the fire already well involved, or was the 9 alarm rung out as a percautionary measure do to the nature of the building?

i think they originally sent one or two units, but as the fire progressed they realized they needed more and sent for backup, a lot of backup.

theres another video around here somewhere which shows the actual fire. its really bad. Its really horrible, the losses i mean, but thank goodness the fire didnt take Thrashers!!
