Modern FM radio needs more women DJs like "GI Jill" nowadays! Most of the women jocks on FM sound like "robotic eunuchs" for cryin' out loud! "Delilah" in syndication is great, but we need more women who sound like women.
You've got a great sounding Table (Garrard 4H?). Seriously, you need to get this through a proper NAB gain stage and patch it directly in. It sounds good as is, but I can only imagine how good this would sound patched direct. I've got some AFRS music programs I haven't digitized yet...I may have to post a few! Musically great, thanks for sharing!
Your right about Jill sounding sweet & sexy (with her voice) because she really does. Even though I'm too young to have heard the AFRS broadcasts of the show during WWII I can see why the GI's liked her so much. She was truly great!! I only wish there were more phot'o's released of Jill besides the one of her face nest to an AFRS microphone but thats the only one I've ever seen. By the way Jills real name was Martha Wilkerson in case you didn't know.....
this old stuff is like a beautiful dream, so endless and relaxing
