  • I am not adverse to a film made about John's murder. It was horrible, frightening, and a part of history that should not be forgotten, no matter how sad it makes those of us (like me) who love his music so much. However, I don't agree with films focusing on the despicable creature who murdered him. His "friendship" with some chick, his "meeting" with his victim's 5 year old child. It's sad and giving too much light to this loser. Instead, a film on JOHN'S last day with HIM as the main focus..

  • THAT'S the main reason why Sean is not a fan of this movie. It's nothing but a propaganda piece, meant to further reinforce the lie that Chapman was just some goofy "lone nut." This was a total CIA operation.

  • Quote from Sean Lennon: "He was a counterculture revolutionary, and the government takes that kind of shit really seriously historically. He was dangerous to the government. If he had said, 'Bomb the White House tomorrow,' there would have been 10,000 people who would have done it. These pacifist revolutionaries are historically killed by the government. Anybody who thinks that Mark Chapman was just some crazy guy who killed my dad for his personal interests is insane, I think, or very naive."

  • @LongLiveOx Why was this flagged as spam?

  • what a crappy idea. we need more help for the mentally ill for people like mark david chapman so that tragedies like this can be avoided. we as a culture need to pay better attention to musicians as artists instead of thinking of musicians or other artists as great because they're famous people.

    celebrity culture kills.

  • The death of John Lennon was a pretty big thing in History. Why not make a movie? They are making a movie about Kurt Cobain's finally years. I'm a huge Beatles fan and a huge Jared Leto fan. Yeah it's creepy that they made a movie about Lennon's death but it's Hollywood. People will make movies that the public doesn't like. I enjoyed the movie.

  • He should listening IMAGINE every single minute, and every second until his death !!!!!

  • say what you want about it, Leto did a really good job playing Chapman.

  • what its the name of the movie?

  • I guess they aint friends anymore.

  • They're giving him what he wanted... fame

  • He looks so much like his father. So much more so than Julian.

  • @TehTwistedMind very true

  • Do you know what's the creepiest thing?

John Lennon was shot by Mark Chapman.

The guy who plays John Lennon in the movie (and they are very alike) is called Mark Chapman :|

    That's creepy...

  • @LucyLAL100 That is true and I didn't know that. I imagine many other actors could have played the part. I have to believe it was probably intentional. The thinking behind it is inline with the whole idea of making a movie like this unfortunately. This link will confirm what she wrote above, again, unfortunately! fandango.com/chapter27_v358570/cast just add three w's

  • @Bigstooler0 whats the name of this movie?

  • @LucyLAL100 - Nice try. The actor who plays Lennon is Mario Chapin. The only thing "creepy" about this is YOU.

  • @thegrinchl7 Oh shut up and do your research before you open your mouth. Chek out Wikipedia, it says that in the film Chapter 27 the actor who plays John Lennon is called MARK LINDSAY CHAPMAN.

  • Lindsay Lohan my favorite famous white trash slut, something sexy about a drugged out redhead. As for the movie it's been a long time I don't think it's too soon, love John but he's not above story telling. Made movies about the execution of Jesus but can't make one about John? maybe he's right maybe they are bigger than Jesus

  • Why not make a film about John's life, rather than his death. He inspired millions

  • ...meow...(...this was a truly tragic death - a very talented individual was taken from this earth; my sincerest condolences to the family of Mr. Lennon and Mrs. Ono...)

  • Wow. How horrible! Making a movie about Lennons murderer, trying to make that assholes motives for killing Lennon more deep and mysterious. He just wanted FAME and by making a movie all about him we've given him what he always wanted. I bet they made Chapman look like some kind of mental ,depressed victim in this movie like many movies do about murderers. Not to mention Lindsay Lohan is in this! Poor Sean, they shouldn't have been aloud to put him in the film like that.

  • .....just a few words....lindsay lohan wut the f*c* go to rehab

  • I think its important that movies like these get made. John lennon & his death are part of our history & its important that we learn what happened,It helps to keep foremost in our minds that things like this are still a real threat & assassination of famous people is still an issue that needs addressing.

Jared Leto acted the role of Chapman brilliantly & shows an insight into why this man did what he did, many people have questioned why he did it over the years. In no way does it glamorise it.

  • @trazeanne I'm sorry but I completely disagree with you. I would understand a documentary about John Lennon's murder, something that's informational and understanding but not boring. But to make a tacky movie about something terrible like this just for good views and money is just too awful to describe. Especially when you realize that this is EXACTLY what Chapman wanted.

  • Tacky? Try fucking disrespectful. Chapman did it for the fame, the makers of this film have helped him succeed in his goal.

  • Blech. And I don't get the scene where "Chapman" supposedly shakes hands in greeting with a young Sean. To my knowledge, Sean has never met the man, so talk about abusing poetic license (although there is NOTHING poetic about the scene). Leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. This movie should never have been made. It's just another way to exploit John's horrible murder and cast a shadow on his memory while giving more media attention to the prick who killed him. Extremely distasteful.

  • @Cozycriter NO, IT DID HAPPENED!

  • @Cozycriter look it up it did happen

  • LMAO! When did they make this movie, 6 years ago? And the TV announcer says "right before Lindsay went into rehab..." LOL! How long has this Quenn of the skanks been going to rehab anyway?

  • What`s worse than glamorizing a killer? Galmorizing him with Lindsay Lohan in it!

  • no surprise to me, because lindsay lohan is a dirty crack whore bitch who would sell her own pussy. not surprised she was in this movie

  • the same thing happened with michael jackson. as soon as he died, somebody was already in the process of making a movie. i wouldnt be suprised if the director wasent a die hard fan.

  • awww..Sean :) he looks so much like his dad!

and he is very right. it is tacky and also insulting to create a movie about John's death, especially when he was Sean's father and the greatest musician ever lived.

  • @hello50guitar are they still making this cos it was posted a long time ago?

  • He does not sound like john

  • Okay, Sean needs to man up. "I don't want to hurt her feelings". Forget her feelings, its about your daddy's murder for crying out loud. You have every right to voice your opinions in this one.

  • @themillenia forget the feeling of the disorders. it abvious that she hase a major personality disorder. fuck her.

  • Sean looks just like John

  • sean sounds like a 12 year old

  • sean never met chapman that day did he?

  • @TheJoec2005 probably not.

  • My god Sean looks and sounds so much like his father.

  • @iamboy1234 He sounds nothing like John. Okay he looks like John I'll give you that. But Sean sounds like a little boy and he's a man.

  • Sean needs a backbone. I'd be relatively pissed if someone was making a movie about the guy that killed my pops. Especially if the guy only did it to get famous.

  • @MacWillyFortunes I agree 100%.

  • I don't wanna watch this movie. Too sad. I think it shouldn't have been made. I agree with j4unumber1.

  • @Hacsaturjan after watching the movie the killing of john lennon i totally agree

  • Making a movie about John Lennon's assassin in order to make money is tacky.

  • @j4unumber1 Not every motivation for making a film is to make money. Some people are so ignorant.

  • dude chapmen never met sean this movie seems stupid

  • shitty film

  • the movie sucked anyway.

  • Rent "The Man Who Killed John Lennon", it's a better movie.

  • Why make a movie about John being killed? Very tacky. You couldn't pay me enough to play that fat fuck Mark David Chapman.

  • @AmericanIdiotTN4

How is it any different than filming a movie about the plot/assassination to kill Lincoln? Or JFK? It's the exact same thing.

  • @NeilFraudstrong

It is very different. When you have someone like the president of the united states assasinated, you're not going to get around it. Not to say John Lennon being murdered is less tragic though. When it comes down to it, there was a lame ass freak who was obsessed with killing John, and then he did. They should not make a movie about it, trying to make it all exciting. And I think its tacky that someone is making a lot of money on it.

  • @AmericanIdiotTN4 You don't see why John's death could be at all meaningful to someone? Why someone could want to pay homage to him? Why someone would want to tell the story of how one of the greatest musicians and promoters of peace was gunned down? Or even look at the psyche of the man who killed him? I can. Lennon's death happened, we can either choose to remember it and learn from his life and death or we can store it away in the past and forget about it. Remember him, preserve his message.

  • @AmericanIdiotTN4

C'mon. I'm a huge Lennon fan but I find it odd that people are so offended by this movie. There have always been movies made about famous people being killed. It's not like Chapman is getting money from this so I don't see what the big deal is.

  • @AmericanIdiotTN4 haha :D so true :(

  • I actually liked the movie. But it's about John Lennon, starring Jared Leto. That's, like, one of my dream movies, so it's not completely fair to ask me this.

  • Look at lindsay bouncing around in the end of the clip, fucking junkie.

  • I love Sean!!!!

He looks like 50% John and 50% Yoko. Exacly half.

He has John's eyes, and John's hair. (and John-like glasses) And he has dark eyebrows like Yoko, and his eyes look kind of asian.

  • Regardless of the cheap and nasty feel of the film and the morals of whether it should have been made or not- it is a complete pile of shit, not even worthy of a straight to tv film

  • yo look like him

  • HE DOES!

  • I think they could have made this movie sooo much better. for one thing, NOT using Lindsey Lohan. She kinda ruins it. Or maybe ASKING Sean if he wanted it?

  • I have to kind of disagree here. I mean, I can understand from Sean's perspective that this would be a tough film to have to experience whether you view it or not, but the fact is that his father, John, was a major figure in world culture and it's only natural that films would be made about this. It's no different than producing a movie about JFK or RFK or anything else. Maybe it is a bit tacky, but it's only natural. Incidentally, Chapter 27 was pretty bad. The other film was much better.
