The problem is what some call "liberation" has nothing to do with liberation but everything to do with gaining additional markets for their goods. Iraq is a case and point. No one sent a military to liberate African Americans from some very brutal persons here in America. Of course, there are extreme cases which require maximum persuasion but that's rare.

If you're referring to slavery I wasn't born then but am very proud we had strong, caring groups of white Americans who saw how wrong & inhuman black people were being treated then had strength to stand up & help fight for equal rights. There are black, white & Mexican gangs now who kill other races just to get in their racial gang. Whites were once slaves to Romans. Jews have been slaves to Germans. Every race & class of people have at one time been victims of unfair circumstances.

You are correct, all peoples at one time have been enslaved. Of those peoples, which could never own anything and were legally designated as chattel? Even among the Romans, you could win your freedom. In the US, and other areas of the world the Ashkenazim and Sephardim were key participants in slavery.

Yes, there were whites who were against slavery in US but not all of them for good reasons. With many, it was because of labor, i.e., low wages.

Biden saying everyone miscalculated the impact of the stimulus and what's being done to create REAL employment in America? Bush is over. What are we going to do now? Do we appease the banksters and Wall Street robber barons or do we bring manufacturing jobs back to the US? What do we manufacture in America anymore? Everyone won't get a degree and there was a time you didn't need one for a decent standard of living.

The 500k jobs each month will eventually come but it's not going to come suddenly. There are fundamental areas that must be fixed and the Obama Administration is quickly working on doing that. Federal Reserve was a HUGE problem and their power is being removed in finance and consumer credit area.

Cracking down on large corps that have taken technology and tax dollars to China and elsewhere is being done. Education & skills very important for USA.

No, it is not too late to change it the "slave labor". Salaries and costs are out of whack here in the US and requires a revamping. I'm not just talking about executive salaries. People in China and Mexico are demanding more and this helps bring some things back into balance. The next target for certain cheap labor would then be African nations. Channels would be so-called tax shelters. Others would be secret accounts where money is transferred from bank to bank, under government radar. The other is also through American companies that relocate overseas, taking capital that would normally help pay for the best education here and assure a strong tax base.

They are really cracking down on companies that have been hiding money in offshore and Swiss accounts to avoid taxes. This has hurt the education system.

Freddie and Fannie has been a whipping boy of the GOP for quite some time. This turning of the head and not regulating the financial industry was a Bush Administration trademark starting with Enron.

Obama is the first president to actually move in a very serious way to take power over the financial system out of the hands of the Federal Reserve. Congress will pass this.

The economy recovers by ending the pork in Iraq, and then wrapping up things with al Qaida in Pakistan. It recovers by ending the sellout by American corporations via jobs and taxes in other countries.

It's about time the US government cracked down on these huge corporations that became wealthy off of American education, tax breaks and deregulations.

No, I do not believe we are producing a sufficient number of math and science students. No, they are not competitive enough. Most education has been dumbed down in the USA. That must change. The primary blame is not the teachers but society as a whole. Corporate America has a large role to play and some distract from the real issue, flooding the pool with their interests, a fast buck and little or no taxes.
