  • These days if they were to make Timer PSAs, they'd have him teaching pre-schoolers about anal sex

  • I just smoked a whole bunch of crack!

  • @0:22-0:25 that's a rather original rhyme: "i've got something planned which is / little cheese sandwiches."

  • You go to school

  • I see Rick Perry has started his campaign ads.

  • my key board brought me here along with some segram seven

  • He hankers for a hunk of cheese? i'm trying to figure out how to hanker or does it mean he gives up his hanker for a piece of cheese hmmm 0.0 thinks

  • What the fuck IS Timer anyway? lol a Cheeseball? I always thought it was weird for him to use a cane and fire bullets out of it too.

  • this was my fav commercial when i was a kid!

Hanker for a bag of weed is more like he's on..... What a drugie

  • hanker for a hunk of cheese!

  • I love all those PSA's reminds me that I was a F__kin' little fat couch potato!

  • Showing my teenager the wondrous 80's. Cool though that Family Guy used it, I'll have to look that up that clip

  • Look, a wagon wheel!

  • @SWORNBkROTHERz857 u got that right!!! Remember "Exercise Your Choppers"? remember the abc saturday morning story? It had the book that would open up then pages would flip to the story of the week. The only other time to see cartoons was on usa on sunday mornings but i hated theirs. Some Crappy Evil Knievil Knockoff. "The Cartoon Express" i think. Or on tbs mon thru fri you could watch classic cartoons from 4am to 6am approximately....

  • @SWORNBkROTHERz857 < oh please i was there, I remember this on saturday mornings with all the new cartoons! Wow, to be a kid again! BTW fuckers, I am over 40 years old.

  • Too poor for wagon wheels growing up. Maybe that is why i hate TIMER.

  • A lot of black females are shaped like this, small legs and big bellies......

  • My husband kept buggin and buggin on how he couldn't find this video on his phone. Well here you go baby..... He even sang it out loud while i played it. CREEPY!!!!

  • Childhood in the seventies was like a creepy acid trip that left you feeling itchy and uncomfortable.

  • @toddspal Bullshit, childhood in the 70's was awesome.

  • @chinagirl7773 I guess, if you're into Chevy Novas and avocado green. I'm sure I had fun at the time, but looking back on the seventies...it looks...like everyone needed a bath.

  • two words; vomitus prime

  • ha... someone said that that Ke$ha chick in a bikini is built like this dude -- it's true! hahaaa!

  • @gigimc

    superficial reference ftw

  • @iluvyouwyatt hahaha! it's allllll connected.... lol

  • Time For Timer, Schoolhouse Rock!, McGruff The Crime Dog, Woodsy Owl, Iron-Eyes Cody (The Crying Indian), Smokey The Bear, ABC's Public Service Announcements, and many other similiar segments were great for kids to grow up on. They started in the 70's and continued till the 90's. They were educational yet fun to watch. Sad that they are all but a mere memory. Kids these days could benefit from these wonderful learning segments.

  • He's doing a Jim Lampley impression, "BANG BANG BANG"

  • I used to love those little segments watching cartoons on Saturday morning, This one and putting orange juice into ice trays with toothpicks and the plastic wrap. And a big boo to all of the people who put something dirty on here It was for children not adults.

  • what the hell does "time for timer" mean?

  • This talking testicle telling me to eat cheese is scaring me the f*ck out!

  • Thumbs Up

    I lived this shit

  • I've always wondered what Timer actually was. Best answer I've seen is a testicle.

  • Back before everybody was lactose intolerant.

  • I am going to hanker for some hunks of cheese, over at Conjunction Junction, with Interplanet Janet. Right after I watch American Bandstand, after Bugs Bunny.

  • You might think I'm a nut, but I often imagine Hank or Peggy Hill singing this...

  • My 10 gallon hat's feelin' 5 gallon flat. It's all floppy-like.

  • ha ha pause at 58

  • unfortunately, 26 people rather eat goose turds.

  • is cheese really all that nutritious? I sang tis to ppl after this stopped airing. & nobody seemed to remember him. when they did it on fam guy, I was glad to know I wasn't going crazy.

  • @texasanarchy ... and Chow Daddy!

  • @texasanarchy My love for DePatie-Freleng introduced me to this guy.

  • Funny haha

  • I always thought that Timer was made out of cheese.

  • OMG My childhood just got raped in the mindgina...AGAIN!! I don't know why, but 0:37 makes me laugh like crazy.

I freakin' loved these. Thanks for sharing!

  • I JUST SMOKED A WHOLE BUNCH OF CRACK

  • 1) Hold your breath.

    2) Copy all of these steps.

    3) Go to two other video.

    4) Paste it in the comments.

If you can do all of this without breathing you're a good Sniper

  • Awesome! thanks for posting!

  • timer is not on crack. that is an urban legend promoted by "family guy." crack did not hit the market until 1982-83. this psa originally aired in 1977.

  • I guess 26 people aren't hankerin' for a chunk o' cheese.

  • I thoght it was fucked when i was little. I still think its fucked lol

  • wtf is this shit?

    he looks like a pedo

  • wtf is this shit?

  • "what the hell is your problem?!" "I JUST SMOKED A WHOLE BUNCH OF CRACK!"

  • I always get hungry for a big cheeseburger when i see this........

  • With this, the true horror of government propaganda becomes hideously apparent...

  • I always wondered as a kid why a dancing scrotum wearing a cowboy hat would want me to eat more cheese.

  • Peter: What the hell is wrong with you!?

Cheese Guy: I just smoked a whole bunch of crack!

  • My hat's 5 gallons flat. LOL.

  • what the heck is the guy? is he cheese what is he

  • This is scary

  • I JUST SMOKED A WHOLE BUNCH OF CRACK!

  • @Pact1017 swiss or american-white or yellow--i prefer yellow.

  • @2thepnt Eh. Swiss or Mozzarella for me.

  • I recommend a nice, well-aged extra-sharp cheddar (white or yellow... they both taste the same) on some whole wheat Triscuits.

    CHEESE-LOVER'S HEAVEN!!!

To those who are 21 or older, I also recommend a well-aged Ruby Port for the wash-down. Yes, it's heavy and sweet... but nothing stands up to cheddar like port wine. And please enjoy it responsibly... in the safety of your own home.

  • @NCTaikoDrumboy Fuck that "responsible" shit. I want a pound of sharp cheddar on top of a trisket the size of a place mat and I want to wash it all down with a pint of Taylor-Fladgate. The more the healthier.

  • @problem49 Okay, fine. Suit yourself. But if you end up on a morgue slab due to malnutrition, don't come crying to ME about it!

  • @NCTaikoDrumboy It's a deal, now, let the cheese begin!

  • @problem49 *SIGH* ...There's just no pleasing some people.

  • @NCTaikoDrumboy

LOL. That would be so much funnier in the voice of Peter Griffin.

  • @Hulk2k6 Ummm... Peter Griffin? Who's he?

  • Oh how I miss the 80's!

  • I just smoked a whole bunch of crack. oh look a wagon wheel!

  • Love how he fixes the hole in his hat by just running his cane along it... And did we ever find out WHY they named this character "Timer"?

  • Awww... Too bad they don't have these anymore. The only PSAs that the networks are *still* required to run are shown at 3 a.m.--between infomercials. I swear I'd rather hear the "and that concludes the end of our broadcast day" and wake up to a multi-color screen and that horrible test sound that wake up to "I jest terned 18... this is my ferst time" Girls Gone Wild crap!

  • Dairy propaganda!!!!

  • I just smoked some crack.

  • does anybody recognize that Timer looked a lot like the late Slim Pickens?

  • HA! I actually remember this :-P I'm so happy that I'm not one of the tools who was only brought here by some unfunny shit cartoon.

  • i feel like smoking crack just for watching this video

  • What the fuck is he even saying

  • I want some cheese!

  • Thumbs up if Family Guy brought you here.

  • @CO9207 NO I'm starting to not like family guy if their making fun of these keeps them or new stuff like them from being put back on TV. I love these and can't believe I forgot so many of them.

  • @Miracle490d It's the other way around. It's so easy to forget these and it's good when today's shows remind us by paying tribute to them.

  • @CO9207 I just smoked a whole bunch of crack.

  • @CO9207 Kevin Smith brought me here. lol

  • Thanks for posting! I get this stuck in my head to this day.

  • Sadly, Timer died because he was so bound up from eating so much cheese, his intestines exploded.

  • My parents loved this as kids! Now my dad is hysterical about him smoking crack!

  • Man, as a kid in the 1970s (I was born in 1969) I used to watch this, among the other "Timer" PSAs, on Saturday mornings. Brings back fond, nostalgic memories of me sitting in front of the living room 25 inch color tv (the only tv we had in the house. Unlike today where people practically have a tv in each and every room) watching my favorite Saturday morning cartoons while eating bowl after bowl of my favorite breakfast cereals. The 1970s really was the golden age of saturday morning cartoons.

  • @classicphile I was born in 1969 too. I think we had the best TV time in the 70s. Your Saturday mornings mirrored my childhood Saturday mornings. Great times, wasn't it!

  • Look, a wagon wheel!

  • Great PSA.

Family Guy is crap and watched by millions of pissants.

  • Wow, I remember seeing this repeated endlessly on TV while watching cartoons.

  • Why do douchebags think they are cool because they brought up some lame Family Guy that everyone else has already seen. Yeah, we get it. He smoked a whole bunch of crack.

  • Man, I haven't seen this for almost thirty years. They used to play this all the time. Exercise your Choppers was another classic.

  • wuts his problem

he just smoked a whole bunch of crak

  • where is this from?

  • I love this!

  • i remember seeing this when i was kid, it's still the craziest thing i ever seen.....

  • Ever since I was a kid, every time somebody says "my get up and go has got up and went" I instantly think of this PSA. It has been burned into my subconscious permanently.

  • @jimjanssen73 the line also occurs in a song by the weavers, entitled "get up and go."

  • hmmm... a subliminal commercial message for the cheese companies.

  • He hankered fer a hunk a my arse!

  • great memory

  • Is it me or does his voice change at 0:07?

  • @JackTron7000 YES! I heard that too. If you check out the other 'Timer" videos, you'll see that this isn't the original voice.

  • when i was younger i used to think he was saying "i'll hump ya for a hunka cheese" and would be really freaked out

  • @BlinkinFirefly .. that was the funniest thing Ive heard in a while and I really needed something funny.. sorry to laugh at your childhood scar

  • @BlinkinFirefly ROFLMAO

  • @BlinkinFirefly Where was your mind? Hanker does not sound like hump ya in the least. Funny thought though. Hanker might sound like Hang her. But hang who?

  • a slab or slice or chunk of cheese really will hold you over. i recommend gouda.

  • a slab or slice or chunka!

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

  • ...

  • i remember this one:)

  • We couldn't afford afternoon snacks! So fuck what he's talking about!

  • bang bang bang!

  • I just smoked a whole bunch of crack

  • Wait... so he be as tall as a wagon one minute, then be short enough to stand on kitchen counter the next? Did someone drop some crap in his cheese?

  • Now, Lennie Weinrib (April 29, 1935 – June 28, 2006), for the most part, was quite talented. Between Timer and H.R. Pufnstuf he was awesome. But his role as Scrappy Doo ranks.... as one of the worst cartoon characters ever. That's where he went wrong.

  • in honor of Donna Porter :)

  • The song always kind of reminded me of "When you're slidin' into first and you feel a juicy burst/Diarrhea - Diarrhea". Of course, if you eat a whole lot of cheese every day, you'll have the opposite problem. This is yet another slice of '70s and '80s TV that "Family Guy" has parodied over the years.

  • I remember this from when I was 7 or 8, watching cartoons on saturday morning. Back before cable and 24/7 cartoon channels. Cartoons were a treat, not the norm. They came on at 0700 and went off at 1100. The commercials were fun and sometimes educational (School House Rock). For those of you that are whining about cheese constipating... look at what they are putting in their mouths now. Hot Cheetoh's and energy drinks are probably giving them the "skidders." Yes, that was from the '70's.

  • @afghandaveokie

    I agree 100%.

  • WTF

  • LOOK A WAGON WHEEL!!!!! I was like wtf???? This is from family guy!!!! I JUST SMOKED A WHOLE BUNCHA CRACK!! rotflmao

  • @LizzieBorden9898 That's the problem with Family Guy making obscure references from the late 70's and the 80's. Younger people are led to believe F.G. invented the character, skit, etc. It was clear years ago that about 90% of the references were going to go over the heads of anyone born after around 1977.

  • @krewgarr

u're right younger people think F.G started this, but we grew up with great

stuff like this, the F.G. creators could never think about anything this fun and original. This was created long before there ever was a Family Guy cartoon.....

  • @Horation777 family guy sketches are mostly either inspired by old commercials or the extraordinary physical appearance of celebrities. so funny to recognize old stuff.

my favorite is the chuck wagon commercial when brian hunts the carriage

  • This brings back memories of a very happy childhood, saturday morning cartoons !

My favorite line-up were the Superfriends & The Legion of Doom, SHaZaam & Mighty ISIS, Fat Albert, Land of the LOST, Dr.Shrinker, Tom & Jerry, Road runner, Porky pig, and of course The Little Rascals. Also all those educational toons such as," I'am just a bill on capital hill", "conjuction juction whats your function" lol....lots of fun ! Life was so simple back then....

  • This was one of my most memorable commercials since my childhood next 2 conjunction junction what's your function.

  • lol anyone notice how the cheese guy was full-size in the wild west but is tiny in the kitchen?

  • @ItsDappy Gumby's Wild West.

  • this boy has got to be constipated! that's too much damn cheese!

  • lol omg love it yep still sing this lil tune

  • These commercials look like they aired around Saturday morning cartoon time.

Were these around in the 70's or early 80's?

  • what they forgot to tell you....CHEEZ CONSTIPATES!!!

  • I never get sick of this commercial. :) And no, eating cheese, which is a perfectly natural REAL FOOD, is not why kids are obese. Kids are obese because they eat heaps of fast food and candy and Flamin' Hot Cheetos, sit at the computer and at school desks all day, and then the only part of their bodies they exercise is their thumbs for texting. And then on the flip side, some parents are total control freaks driving their kids to eventual adulthood eating disorders...

  • OMG I LOVED THIS PSA!!!!!! i hanker for a hunka cheese!!!! I still sing that when I get a piece of cheese and I'm 42!

  • is cheese really the best snack for children? If they have been sitting at a desk all day because Phys Ed is no longer mandatory the last thing kids need is a slice a slab or a chunk of cheese and two high sodium empty calorie crackers.

I too just smoked a whole bunch of crack.

  • He sounds like Warpath.

  • look a wagon wheel

  • @Sirikyuse What the hell is your problem!?

  • @Humbledingify I just smoked a whole buncha crack

  • When I saw this on Family Guys first episode I knew the show was gonna be special.

  • Wow I think this was animated by the same people who did the Pink Panter

  • You're right, angelmassb! These commercials for ABC-TV were produced for animation by DePatie-Freleng Enterprises and supervised by David H. DePatie and Friz Freleng (Looney Tunes), the same company that created "The Pink Panther and Friends" for United Artists.
